Chapter 85: A Ripping Separation

Rowan was quick.

Before Kyros could whistle the second time, he was already there, storming out of the forest and coming face-to-face with them. 

Kyros turned to him with a blinding smile, his hand brushing over his silver hair as he pushed Val in front of him so Rowan could see her clearly under the peeking moonlight as if he needed that at all. 

"She is here. She is here!"

What Rowan did next wasn't anything Kyros would have ever expected. In a flash, he had Valentina slammed against a tree, his brown eyes darkened and burning with unexplainable rage, his face hovering over hers as he screamed in her face.

"WHERE IS SHE?!" 

"What are you doing?!" Kyros cut in, trying to free Valentina from Rowan, but he shrugged him off too easily, making the mage stumble back. 

"Tell me, now!"

"That is Val! Let her go!" 

"No!" Rowan finally snapped, looking over his shoulder at Kyros. "It is not Val."
