A carriage was running through the jungle. The pursuers chased behind it, attacking while hiding in between the dense forest.
Inside the carriage, a man and woman were resting.
"We won't be caught, right?" the bewitchingly beautiful woman asked.
"Don't worry. I won't let you get married to that pig, Helen." The man answered righteously.
Paris' words brought tears to the woman's eyes and she hugged him.
Crash!
The carriage shook wildly.
"What happened, Macheon?" Paris pulled the curtains aside and questioned the coachman. He could see the coachman trembling in fear of their pursuers.
The coachman was a friend of Paris in this foreign nation and was helping him to run away with the love of his life, Helen.
"They have almost caught up to us, Paris." answered the Macheon.
"I'll be back in a bit." Paris comforted Helen and opened the door of the carriage. He climbed the carriage and stood on its roof.
"Macheon, make sure the horses don't get agitated," Paris spoke resolutely.
A bright violet flame covered Paris' sword. He maintained the flames with much difficulty and slashed.
Slash!
The path behind the carriage was cut by purple flames. Soon, a wall of flames separated the carriage from the pursers.
Breathing heavily, Paris returned to the carriage beside Helen.
[ Ding! You have entered Stage-2 ]
[ Stage-2 Details: On the night of her marriage, Helen is running away with Paris, a prince of foreign nation. You are helping the two lovers escape. As Paris is the prince of Troy, even if he succeeds, the king of nation 'Nelio' to whom Helen was about to be married would wage war on Troy, leading to catastrophic loss of life. ]
[ Goal: Defend Troy ]
[ Reward: ??? ]
Macheon's head hurt while multiple windows appeared before him.
[ Altering the memories of the whole world ]
[ Macheon → Noah ]
[ You have now replaced the original Macheon. While you retain your memories, appearance, and name, others will still think of you as Macheon. ]
"Huff! Huff! Huff!" The pain disappeared slowly and Noah found himself holding the reins of the horses.
He maintained his calm, even though he was in an unfamiliar situation and unknown location, and used the system window to assess his circumstances.
From the system window, it was clear that should Paris succeed in escaping with Helen, a war would start between the nations Troy and Nelio.
Noah's goal was to defend the nation named Troy.
{What art thou going to do?} Hepius questioned from the side.
At the moment, the carriage was moving towards the port where Paris' personal ship rested. Their plan was to use the ship to escape from Nelio and depart for Troy. Once they were out of Nelio, the danger over their lives would also diminish considerably.
Noah had Macheon's memory from when the escape started. So, he knew of these extra details.
"I'm thinking," Noah answered uncertainly.
Currently, Noah had two choices.
Should Noah sabotage the escape?
If he did, the king of Nelio would have no reason to wage war on Troy. Because Helen would return to him. At least Noah hoped so. In the worst case scenario, the king might wage the war nonetheless, to appease his anger of having his wife almost stolen.
Or should Noah help with the escape?
With this choice, the war would happen no matter what.
Moreover, Noah's mission was to 'defend' Troy. It was explicit that Troy would lose if Noah didn't help them.
Noah felt a headache. Not even two minutes passed since he entered Stage-2 and he was faced with multiple choices.
Choices that could lead to ultimate failure if he chose wrongly.
{You should help them.} The saintess spoke suddenly.
Since the day was about to end in 6 hours and Noah hadn't opened the channel yet, the channel between them was now opened on its own.
"Do you know what is happening?" asked Noah. The saintess couldn't see the status window. On what basis was she giving the advice?
{I can deduce the general situation from your surroundings. The couple inside the carriage, you are deciding if you should help them escape or not, aren't you?}
Noah opened his mouth to answer but noticed a group of masked soldiers on their path. "Saintess, we will talk later."
Knock! Knock!
"Paris, we have a problem. We are surrounded," Noah called out to Paris by knocking on the window. He also stopped the carriage.
As soon as Paris stepped out, Noah used Sage Eyes.

Weakness: Believes others too easily. Has zero political sense.

'Of course, he has zero political sense. If not, he wouldn't do something which would let others wage war on his nation.' thought Noah.
"Who are you!?" Paris shouted as he pointed his sword at the masked group.
Fwooosh!!!
Clang!
Suddenly, an arrow was shot at Noah from the forest, only to be countered by Paris.
"Mache— Noah, please enter the carriage and wait with Helen. I can't guarantee your life if we fight outside."
Paris' expression was grim.
There were 10 masked men at the front, and more hiding in the shadows.

Noah swept his gaze across the enemies. All of them were above level 30 and had over 25,000 HP.
With his improved vision, Noah was able to find almost everyone hiding behind the trees. 'I can see 18 enemies and all of them are skilled. Paris' level is higher but he might lose if he is careless.'
Due to the dangerous circumstances, Noah decided to intervene.
"I'll help."
"No, please Noah, you've already done a lot by betraying your nation for us. I can't let you sacrifice yourself too." Paris denied Noah's help vehemently.
"I can fight. Let me—"
"Noah!" Paris grabbed Noah's shoulder. "You are a physician, there is no way you can fight those enemies. I can't let you die here, please."
The corner of Noah's lips were twitching fiercely.
In the end, Noah agreed to Paris' request and entered the carriage.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
A frown appeared on Noah's face when the noise of fighting began immediately after he entered the carriage. However, his attention was pulled by the woman in front of him.
"Ah"
Noah could go on for days if we were to describe her appearance. But if he had to shorten it to one sentence: She was easily the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
A thought popped up in Noah's mind. 'If I kill her now, will it be possible to blame the murder on those masked men? That should eliminate every chance of war since those men must be this nation's soldiers.'
The woman, Helen, unaware of Noah's dark thoughts, bowed. "Thank you for helping us, Physician Noah. If it wasn't for you I would've never met Paris nor escaped the palace undetected."
Her words earned a chuckle from Hepius. {Brat, it seems thou are the cupid of their love life. Don't get caught or thy execution is confirmed.}
{Yes, please help them, Priest Noah. One's love should be free and not forced upon them.}
BAM!!!!!
The carriage suddenly shook followed by Paris' groans. Noah peeked through the curtains and found the carriage surrounded by masked men.
"Paris!" Helen gasped when she saw the leader of masked men holding Paris by his neck. Clearly, Paris had lost.
Noah was also surprised, however, his reason was different from Helen's. He saw the enemy leader with his Sage Eyes.
[ Level 60 ]
It seemed Noah could finish Hepius' trial early.
