Drax heard his sentencing and somehow felt delighted instead of feeling punished.

After he received a physical body, he had increasingly begun feeling like his existence had no defined purpose, however, with Max appointing him as the steward of the Rajput family, he now knew what exactly was his purpose in life.

He had to maintain and protect the Rajput capital as well as the Rajput family which was a noble and important role to fulfil.

Now for the next 1000 years, even if Drax did feel like betraying the Rajput family he would be checked and balanced by the queen which would let Max and the other family members have a peace of mind regarding his loyalty.
