To others, George might look like he was trying to curry favor with the recently trending chancellor that held tremendous power.

However, Lei Zhen knew George wasn't trying to curry favor. In fact, if he was then he wouldn't be trying to greet him in front of Princess Kate.

That was equivalent to telling Kate that he wanted to gain a high position by befriending him.

"Chancellor, would it be alright if you come to the Ministry of Defense after discussing with Princess Kate?" George asked, seemingly in a hurry.

Lei Zhen nodded his head.

"Very well, I'll visit the Ministry of Defense soon." He replied, allowing George to leave the office.

Once George left the office, Kate's cold expression turned into a smile.

"I'm surprised you agreed to meet with George," She said in a somewhat astonishing tone, clearly teasing him previously for denying his rank again and again.
