Timothy was leaning his back against the wall. The people who were spectating with the ongoing commotion had already dispersed. He knew that at the end of the day the news of the fight would have spread in the entire research facility due to the number of people who were able to watch the show. However, he did not care or rather he did not have the time to care.
Timothy clenched his fist tightly as his knuckles turned pale due to the blood not circulating in his hands. Just thinking about what happened made him mad. He was not approaching Anne to let her mind calm down before trying to appease her from her anger. However, something unexpected happened…
Or someone.
He knew that Connor's words were not merely threats. This brought resentment in his heart, the sudden appearance of Connor made him uneasy. Timothy was lost in his own thoughts when someone called out to him.
"Timothy, we should go to the infirmary to get your cuts and bruises checked." A soft voice was heard in front of him. He did not even notice the woman's presence as he was deep in his own thoughts. Once he looked up, there was a seductive and alluring woman in front of him. Her curves and supple body made her a woman that everyone desired. Her luscious red lips and teary eyes made her look vulnerable to the point that every man would want to comfort her. Her long black hair that was now scattered on the floor due to her crouching beside him while she looked worried for his well-being.
Her name was Elaine. She was the so-called woman in the photograph that started everything. She was the reason everything fell apart. However, he could not blame her because not everything that had been reported was false.
It happened a week before the photograph for the tabloids was taken. Their team decided to celebrate their research's success as they found a ground-breaking discovery that could shorten their research process by 5 years. This was a cause for celebration as everyone in the department decided to join. At that time he was already feeling depressed from Anne's complete disregard for herself. He could not talk to her as she was always drunk and disgruntled which caused them to fall farther apart.
Therefore, he decided to drown his depression with alcohol. He drank one bottle after another as though it was water. Shots were taken like juice. He did not care what type of alcohol it was as long as he could get his hands on it. That was the last thing he could remember. He was sitting alone in the bar section while downing drinks like water. After that, he woke up in an unfamiliar place with a sleeping and naked woman beside him.
