Chapter 99: Can't go back to the way we were

After Chang Seol is gone, Geun turns to Sin Jeong-Hyuk. He spits out each word slowly but sternly, "What.Are.You.Doing?"

Seeing him like that, Sin Jeong-Hyuk doesn't pretend anymore. His eyes darken. "I am being nice to her."

"Nice?" Geun shouts at him. "Be her friend. Be her mentor. Be someone like her family. But you can't be her lover. You can't fall in love with her. You don't even deserve love! We only need to make her debut successfully. Until that moment, control yourself."

Sin Jeong-Hyuk bends down his head. He stares at the wooden floor. "I just want to be with her while I can."

"She died because of you." Geun glares at him. "You and that witch! If you hadn't appeared in our lives--"

"Don't." Sin Jeong-Hyuk looks at him in the eyes. "All of us are here because we failed her. Isn't it too much already? I also want her forgiveness… but I can't take it anymore. I love Seol. I love her so much that it hurts. I want to stay here with her. I want this hell to end."
