Chapter 15: Sugar-Plum two

"Gotcha!" Sugar-Plum turned in their direction of the sound, aiming at them.
"Oh no!, Watch out!" Rena Rouge called.

Ladybug was pushed out of harm's way by Rena Rouge. "Phew that was a close one, thankyou" Ladybug sweatdropped.
"No worries, so what's the plan?" Rena Rouge whispered impatiently as they tried laying low from getting spotted again.
"Oh, that's right" this was one of the moments when she really needed Catnoir's puns, he would make fun of this situation...
"Uh, Ladybug!, The plan?" Rena Rouge flicked her fingers as she realized Ladybug had zoned out.
"I don't feel complete without Catnoir" she mumbled but this didn't escape the notice of Rena Rouge. What's she thinking?, Does this usually happen to Ladybug?.
"Here's what we'll do" Ladybug snapped of her trance as she whispered the plan to Rena Rouge which made her smile broadly.
"That's bound to work, you're awesome Ladybug" Rena Rouge squealed in delight.
*Boom* some of the concrete were turned into confectioneries behind them. "Whoops" Rena Rouge looked in the direction of the akumatized villain who had spotted them again.
"Let's put our plan to work then" Ladybug said as she removed her yoyo from around her hips. "Let's go" she used her yoyo as a swing. "Right behind ya" Rena Rouge jumped in an opposite direction.

"You can't hide from me, I will find you" she fumed, "Don't you want to eat my confectioneries? They are exquisite" she zapped random things changing them into candy.
"Would you stop playing games and get me Ladybug and Catnoir's miraculouses!!" A neon purple shaped butterfly appeared with a threatening voice of hawkmoth's.
"Come out, my little cupcakes" she called.
"Well I could be sweet but never a cupcake" Sugar-Plum could hear but didn't know where the voice came from.
"Your defeat will be my icing on the cake" Sugar-Plum called as she aimed at where the voice was heard.
"Ha!, You missed" Ladybug mocked as she came into clear view.
"Where's your partner? Catnoir" Sugar-Plum noticed something off about the situation.
"He's in the litter box, he'll soon be here with us shortly, but right now you have me to deal with" Ladybug advanced towards her spinning her yo-yo.
Sugar-Plum aimed at her but missed as Ladybug deflected her attacks with her yo-yo.
"Stay put!" Sugar-Plum was getting tired of her antics as she aimed ahead of Ladybug and just as she expected, Ladybug fell into her trap, colliding with her aim. She was cornered.
"Where's your partner now? Is he a scaredy cat now?" Sugar-Plum mocked, "I would be taking your miraculous now, thankyou" she squatted, strapping her staff behind her, she tried unclasping her earrings.
"No!" Ladybug said weakly.
"Yes! Take her miraculous before her partner shows up!" Hawkmoth called through the medium.
"Why won't th..this com-e offff!!" Sugar-Plum tugged on her earrings. She tried pulling out her hands but realized they were stuck, "What's happening?!" She struggled to get free.
"I'll be glad to cupcake" a voice called behind her.
"Ladybug?" Sugar-Plum's eyes widen in surprise.
"The one and only" Ladybug winked. "I assumed you like our present, a gumdrop in the shape of me!" She smiled.
Sugar-Plum looked in the direction of the Ladybug she thought she had defeated, all she saw now was a red gooey spotted sculpture of Ladybug and her hands were stuck in it. "H-how did, when did this happen?".
"Ever heard of illusion?" Rena Rouge dropped down from the roof she laid hidden all along coming towards Ladybug.
"Guess you didn't see that coming?" Ladybug took the candy staff, "Catnoir, would you do the honors?" Ladybug totally forgot her partner wasn't with her as she handed Rena Rouge the staff.
"Uh!" Rena Rouge sweatdropped. *Cough*
"Oh that's right" she laughed nervously as she broke the staff in half revealing the akuma inside which tried escaping.
"No more evil doing for you little akuma, time to de-evilise!!!!!" She said swinging her yo-yo as she captured and purified the akuma. "Bye bye little butterfly".
The sculpted gumdrop reverted to it's original form, releasing it's captive as a dark cloud engulfed her before she reverted to her usual appearance, "wh-what am I doing here?, Oh! No, my cake!!!" she was hysterical.
"MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!!!!", Ladybug yelled throwing up the gumdrop in the air which dispersed into miraculous light that purified the damage caused by Sugar-Plum.
"We should get her home" Rena Rouge signalling towards the lady who sat confused, panic written all over her face.
"Pound it" they said in unison fistbumping, Ladybug still felt something missing as she did this simple gesture with Rena Rouge.
"Miss, what's your name and more importantly what happened?" Ladybug stooped with a worried look on her face.
"I'm Belle, earlier today I was given a contract to deliver a few batch of cakes to a party, and at the last minute it was cancelled!" She shook her head at the memory as she lowered her head, "it was one of my special recipes, why would they do that?" she mumbled dejectedly, Ladybug pretended to be oblivious to her last statement.
"Hmm, let's see, tomorrow why don't you drop by Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie down the 12 Rue Gotlib in the 21st arrondissement, you're in for a surprise" Ladybug suggested.
"Really, they're my role models, I would love to go" she stood up, pulling Ladybug in hug, "Thank you!".
Rena Rouge had never seen this side of Ladybug before, she couldn't help her lips curving upwards at the emotional sight.
"Uh, that's enough" Ladybug was getting uncomfortable as the hug prolonged than usual, "why don't you meet my partner Rena Rouge?, She'll take you home".
"Oh that's right, home!" She replied unenthusiastically, as she moved towards the other Superheroine, she looked back "Thanks for saving me Ladybug" she continued " thank you em.." she looked at Rena Rouge not knowing her name.
"Rena Rouge" she realized Belle was not familiar with her, "at your service" she added.
"Thank you Rena Rouge" she pulled out her phone showing her the direction. "Alright let's go"

atnoir where are you?, I really wished you were here, I'm sorry I made you upset as Marinette...
"Ladybug?" Rena Rouge called behind her, interrupting her train of thoughts.
"Wh- what?, Oh you're back" she said absent-mindedly.
"Have you been able to contact Catnoir?" Rena Rouge sensed it had to be something relating to his absence.
*Sigh*
"We should head back, we'll soon detransform" she wanted to avoid the topic.
"If you need to talk to anyone, I'll be there" Rena Rouge reminded Ladybug.

I finally gave Rena Rouge a little spotlight, too bad Catnoir isn't there.
