Chapter 73: -71- The technique of this world

It has been ten years since Rozen came to this world.

At first, Rozen had little consciousness.

After all, as a baby, the brain was not fully developed, and even though his memories were intact, the brain couldn't process such a large amount of information. Therefore, Rozen continued to remain dormant, growing up in the Akabane household as an ordinary baby, gradually recovering his memories bit by bit, and rediscovering himself.

Around the age of two, Rozen's memories finally fully returned, and he understood his current situation.

Thus, Rozen accepted his current identity as "Akabane Narugami," using the Akabane family as a starting point to acquire knowledge and experience.

This world indeed brought him significant astonishment.

Here, there were no Servants, no Heroic Spirits, but the existence of automata called "ningyo" (puppets).

In this world, the era was still progressing, society was changing, and people were using steam in the age of industrial revolution, gradually encountering Western culture and developing towards modern times.

Furthermore, in this world, there were entirely different but closely related magical theories compared to Chaldea.

Especially the concept of "Automaton Magic," where Puppeteers and Automatons cooperated in combat, which was not so different from the contract between Master and Servant.

Understanding these points and receiving a thorough education from the Akabane family, Rozen started thinking:

"Coming to this world was the right decision."

The Akabane clan.

This is a highly special clan located in the far eastern island country.

In the past, they were a family of Onmyouji who used the secret art of "Onmyojutsu," which could summon Shikigami using miasma. However, they suffered defeat in a battle with their archenemies and gradually withdrew from the center of the country. They turned to practice "Automaton Magic," a technique that does not require miasma to summon Shikigami but directly manipulates puppets for combat. The Akabane family became a mercenary clan, specializing in accepting commissions from various factions and the military, engaging in dirty work such as hired muscle and assassination.

Despite this, the Akabane family's "Automaton Magic" remained an extraordinary skill after many years of development.

In Chaldea's terms, this family has a magical history of at least a thousand years. If they were in the "Mage Association," a magical family with such a long history would have become a prestigious aristocracy.

The reason Rozen felt he came to the right world is because of this family's "Automaton Magic."

The art of manipulating puppets in combat. For Rozen, who excels at summoning and manipulating familiars and even Servants in combat, this skill is like a treasure.

This is because the Akabane family's "Automaton Magic" not only has various advanced manipulation techniques but also secret arts that can strengthen the puppets' control.

These secret arts are undoubtedly highly useful techniques for Rozen.

Moreover, with the existence of "Automaton Magic," the form of magic in this world has undergone significant changes, similar to the relationship between Master and Servant. Various techniques have emerged, all of which facilitate the manipulation of automata and combat. Rozen is ecstatic and eagerly absorbs the knowledge and power of this world.

For example, the technique Rozen used to control the puppets just now is one of the eight major tiers of magic for the magicians in this world, known as "Telekinesis," which belongs to the first tier.

That is a technique that converts magical energy into Telekinetic power, allowing one to manipulate objects through thought.

Wanting to become a puppeteer and control one's own automata, mastering "Telekinesis" can be considered the foundation of the basics.

In order to better control his familiars, Rozen naturally started learning the techniques of this world. Coupled with their astonishing talent in summoning, commanding, and controlling, he successively acquired "Telekinesis," "Spirit Vision," "Rigidity," and "Magic Resistance," totaling four major tiers in just a few years.

As for the technique used by Rozen's brother, Tenzen, called "Heaven's eye," it belongs to the sixth tier.

Speaking of Tenzen, he is also a genius no less than Rozen.

Known as "Heaven Child," this young man in the family has shown astonishing talent at a young age. Not only did he master the sixth tier of magicians at the age of twelve, but he also had incredible achievements in "Automaton Magic." If he had not recently become fascinated with the technique of making automata and started devoting himself to it, perhaps his accomplishments could have been even higher.

Of course, Rozen is two years younger than Tenzen, yet he is equally extraordinary, known among the family as the "Divine Child."

Tenzen and Rozen, the "Heaven Child" and the "Divine Child" of the Akabane family, are respected wherever they go by their fellow clansmen.

However, these clansmen are unaware that while Tenzen is wholeheartedly devoted to mastering the techniques of creating automata, Rozen is simultaneously honing his skills in "Puppetry."

Initially, Rozen had estimated that it would take about ten years to successfully summon a superior familiar.

Regrettably, Rozen is still unable to summon a superior familiar.

There are two reasons for this.

One reason is that the study of "Puppetry" and the eight tiers of magician's skills have occupied a considerable amount of time, delaying the progress of "Summoning."

The other reason is related to the issue of magical circuits.

"How could I have not considered that if my body returns to childhood, the magical circuits would naturally return to a closed state?"

The pseudo-nerves responsible for generating magical energy are not naturally in an operational state; they need to be connected one by one to function.

Once a connection is made, the magical circuit can be used normally, and once all the circuits throughout the body are connected, it can utilize the maximum amount of magical power.

Conversely, if the circuits are not connected, magical energy cannot be utilized.

In the past, Rozen had only studied magic for three years due to the lack of conditions and having spent time connecting his magical circuits.

Rozen has a significant number of circuits, and to connect them all would require a substantial amount of time, which is why he only studied magic for three years.

Now, with his body reverted to a younger age, Rozen's magical circuits have returned to a closed state, necessitating them to be reconnected.

As a result, Rozen needs to invest a considerable amount of time, slowing down the progress of "Summoning."

"However, compared to mastering the techniques of this world, it's not much of a sacrifice."

The techniques of this world are incredibly useful for Rozen, not only enhancing his combat abilities but also having a profound impact on commanding familiars and servants. This is why Rozen is diligently absorbing knowledge, determined not to be distracted.

With these thoughts in mind, Rozen's consciousness quickly returns as they hear the voice of Akabane Kuukan.

//// About their title, It's bugging me quite a lot. Since their title in Chinese both got the meaning of child prodigy. The title of Tenzen is "Tentong". Rozen's title, "Shentong", have a similar meaning as "Tentong". "Tong" in Chinese means child. Ten(actually more like tian) means sky and Shen means god/divine/godly. It's extremely complicated and there's no exact translation of it so I'll just be referring to Tenzen as "Heaven child" and Rozen(Narugami) as "Divine child". Hope you guys can forgive me for this long ass explanation ಠωಠ. ////
