A young orphan boy named Quill driven by the will to live had that dream cut off when he was beaten mercilessly to death, but time and the future had a separate plan for him. In the future the Zoe's were going extinct and they need to gamble their future with a deal with time who brought their heir back in time to a time period that Zoe's don't exist and his soul got merged with Quill's. And he got introduced to the other half of reality a hidden truth that is not exposed, the world of the enlightened. Humans empowered by the enlightened energy of which the source remained unknown but they enjoyed the benefits. The energy had granted them super human abilities and things was going smoothly except for the battles against soul reapers but the balanced was toppled with Quill's introduction to the enlightened world as he was tagged a being that's not meant to exist and to what extent will his presence affect the whole system.
