The pity in Nina’s eyes disappeared in a second and the look she was giving Jake now was like the one a person would give to an idiot whose brain should be donated so not to waste it.

/"Then what the fuck do you expect from her? To tell you via telepathy?/" Nina couldn’t control her irritation anymore. Her voice raised and even Leah who was still in her arms seemed to be affected by her as she narrowed her big eyes at Jake.

/"What is Jay waiting for!/" she mimicked Nina’s tone and slammed her tiny hand on the table.

/"I wanted to show Moonlight to her./" Jake said in a tiny voice, like a little kid who had been wronged. How could Nina or even Jeremy get angry when he looked and talked like that?!
