Chapter 1: Prologo

[Long ago, when heroes were just beginning to discover their quirks, evil gene carriers already existed. In those early days, heroes and evil gene carriers fought side by side, facing together the threats that endangered the peace of the world. These carriers, though feared by some in society, were accepted as allies in the fight against evil.

The diabolical gene was passed down from generation to generation through the bloodline. Each carrier was born with the potential to develop these abilities, although not all of them succeeded. Activation of the gene depended on several factors, including emotional and extreme circumstances. In some families, the gene manifested itself in every generation, while in others, it could skip a generation or two before reappearing.

Over time, the societal view of these carriers changed. Heroes began to see in them a greater danger, a threat that could become uncontrollable. Rumors and fear spread, and what was once a solid alliance turned into distrust and hatred.

To protect themselves and avoid being hunted, the carriers of the diabolical gene were forced to hide in the shadows. From then on, they never again used their power to the world they once helped save, waiting for the moment when they could prove that they were not enemies, but allies for justice].

But that changed one day...

In the forest, we could see a teenager running with a worried expression on his face.

This teenager is Shoto Todoroki, son of the number 2 hero, Endeavour, and he was in the midst of a chase. You might wonder, why? Shouldn't the school trip be one of the safest places? However, the League of Villains infiltrated during the night and took two of his classmates, thanks to the villain Compress. But he's confident he'll rescue them because Shoto wasn't alone. He was with a group of semi-heroes, and to his right, he heard the sound of a voice.

"Run fast, we don't have much time," exclaimed a desperate Midoriya Izuku. Both heroes had faced the League of Villains before, but this time, they seemed to be at a disadvantage.

"Damn it, how did he get close without us noticing?" said a female voice, her face showing guilt and concern.

"Uraraka, we don't have time to dwell on that, they're getting away!" suddenly shouted Shoji.

"Guys, they're getting farther away," added a worried Tsuyu.

The students picked up their pace, driven by the urgency to save their friends and stop the villain, but it wasn't enough. Meanwhile, Shoto wrestled with his own internal thoughts.

"Darn it, every second the situation worsens. What should I do? Should I risk being rejected by everyone and use 'that'? No, I shouldn't, but if I don't act, that guy will take Bakugou and Tokoyami. Damn it, I was supposed to protect them and they were taken just like that. I have to correct my mistake. I have no choice," thought Shoto as he looked towards where his friends were.

"Guys, does anyone have a plan to reach them?" exclaimed Midoriya.

"Maybe we should split up and go one by one," suggested Shoji.

"Are you crazy? That's a bad idea," added Uraraka, surprised.

"She's right, they could catch all of us. We should stick together," added Tsuyu, catching her breath due to exhaustion.

Listening to them argue, Shoto felt he could no longer hide it. They needed to know. He looked at his friends one last time before letting out a deep sigh. "Guys, enough!" shouted Shoto, making their attention turn to him.

"There's only one way to save them," said Shoto seriously, his gaze fixed on them. The weight of his words resonated in the tense silence enveloping the group.

"What do you mean, Todoroki-chan?" asked Tsuyu, curiosity in her voice.

"Please tell me you have a plan," Uraraka requested with a smile, though her expression reflected worry.

"Todoroki-kun," interrupted Midoriya, concerned for his friend, not having seen him this serious since the Sports Festival.

The kids felt a bad omen in the air. No one said anything, they just remained silent as they listened to what Todoroki had to say.

Shoto looked at his friends with determination, his gaze reflecting a mix of concern and resolve. He took a deep breath before speaking, aware that what he was about to reveal could change everything.

"I have to use my true power, something I thought I would never use while with you all... the devil gene," said Shoto quietly but loud enough for everyone to hear him clearly.

A heavy silence fell over the group. The faces of his friends froze in expressions of disbelief and shock. Midoriya, Uraraka, Tsuyu, and Shoji exchanged glances among themselves.

"The devil gene? I thought that was a myth!" murmured Midoriya, his voice trailing off.

"It can't be..." said Uraraka, unable to look away from Shoto.

Tsuyu was visibly surprised, her eyes wide open. Shoji frowned, slowly processing what he had just heard.

Shoto observed his friends' reactions, feeling the weight of his confession hanging in the air around them. Yet, he knew he couldn't afford to hesitate now.

"Yes, I have the devil gene," repeated Shoto, this time with more firmness. "And if you want to stop being with me after this, I'll understand. But I'm going to use this power to rescue Bakugou and Tokoyami."

"We have no time to lose," said Shoto as he positioned himself to reveal his transformation, muttering a few words.

"Release... Devil Gene."

Before anyone could say anything else, Shoto closed his eyes and focused his mind on activating the power he had kept hidden for so long. Dark energy began to emanate from him, enveloping him in a dark and disturbing aura. First, small flashes of red light gleamed under his skin, like cracks slowly opening. These cracks spread quickly, forming intricate patterns that ran across his entire body. The tattoos, initially dark, began to glow with an intense red light as they completed, emanating a sense of dark power and danger.

As the tattoos spread, Shoto slowly raised his arms, revealing that his appearance had subtly changed. His previously calm hair seemed to sway slightly as if stirred by an invisible wind, and his gaze took on an otherworldly and serious intensity.

Shoto's eyes suddenly opened, now glowing with a red brilliance that reflected the inner fire of the devil gene power. Bright and dark energy emanated from him, distorting the air around him and filling the space with a supernatural presence.

Seeing this transformation, his friends instinctively stepped back, feeling the weight of the newly unleashed power.

"But what is this power that I'm feeling?" asked Shoji, his voice breaking with disbelief.

"This sensation is like what happened at USJ when you faced the Nomu until All Might arrived," recalled Uraraka, her tone worried as she stared at the appearing tattoos.

Tsuyu, always practical, added, "Whatever it is, it seems we're in good hands. I trust Todoroki-kun," with sweat falling off her face. She had become nervous about Shoto Todoroki's new form.

"I felt this too when we fought Stain. I didn't see it well, or rather, I don't know what I saw when I was paralyzed and you were fighting. For a moment, it seemed to me that your appearance had changed, so you've been keeping a secret from all of us," reflected Midoriya, memories of that intense battle returning to his mind. Realizing where his aura came from.

"All right, now let's act. I'll go ahead, friends," said Todoroki, and in a flash of fire, he shot off towards Compress.

At that moment, the kids were left pondering what had just happened.

"He's gone. What speed, he seems much faster than Iida-kun," commented Midoriya, surprised.

"And he seems fully aware of what he's doing," added Tsuyu.

"Who would have thought Todoroki-kun had such a secret, it's... quite dark," reflected Uraraka.

"Even so, we can't let our guard down. Remember what happened at the USJ. If it's true he used it there, remember that the Nomu defeated him," Shoji reminded.

He remembered how everyone was taken by surprise at the USJ. As the heroes protected the students, Shoji focused on an inhuman figure, that was Shoto. Remember how Todoroki resisted every attack of the Nomu, using his devil gene power but also showing signs of physical and emotional wear.

"Yeah, Todoroki-kun held out pretty well in that fight until All Might arrived, so we have to be prepared. Let's just hope he's okay," said Midoriya as he thought of a plan.

"We have to trust him, he's always been strong, but this is different," Uraraka expressed, looking towards where Todoroki had disappeared.

The students were momentarily deep in thought. As they watched Shoto walk away into danger, their minds were filled with memories and worries. Midoriya vividly remembered the battle at USJ, where Shoto had first displayed his unknown power against the Nomu but did not remember what the devil gene was back then. Tsuyu, always calm, noticed how Shoto seemed to be more in control now, but couldn't help but remember the desperation of that day. Uraraka was reflecting on the dark side of Shoto they had just discovered, wondering what else he might be hiding. Shoji was reflecting on how Shoto's power had been crucial in the battle, but also on the dangers involved.
