- Habaki POV -
4 years has passed since I was reborn into this world. I had learned that this world was much different then in my previous life. Here people had powers called quirks which made it possible for some people to do extraordinary things. These quirks usually showed themselves in each individual when they are about 4 years old.
And today was my fourth birthday. I had just started elementary school, most kids would be excited to start in school and start making friends. Not me though, just like being pretending to be a regular baby, it's hard pretending to be a young child. The classes were super boring, I only ever answered if I was asked a question.
It wasn't because I wanted to hide that I knew a lot more than everyone else and was practically a genius, it was more that I didn't really make an effort to be an outstanding student. If they asked a question I would always answer right, and in quizzes or tests I would get 100%, but any other time I would just be bored out of my mind dosing off and not listening to the teachers.
They had tried to get me to listen to what they said, but after realizing I could answer all their questions without any effort in the classroom, they more or less just let me do what I wanted. Some of the teachers had suspicions that it might be a quirk that made me so smart, if only they knew. One of them went to my parents with his suspicions, and not soon after a date was set to go to the quirk doctor on my 4th birthday.
Making friends wasn't all that easy but it was manageable. It was hard sometimes to not be frustrated with the childishness of the other children, but I remembered how my older sister had played with me when I was young, so I did the same with these children. We played hero vs villain and other games, it was honestly baffling how much energy children could have. I had learned about heroes and villains at the age of three after seeing a fight on TV, and after asking my mother what it was she had to explain to a 3 year old me that there were those who used their powers for bad things and the heroes job was to stop them.
She had also told me about hero schools and how they trained you to use your quirk. It really did sound interesting, however I wasn't sure if I wanted to put my life on the line, just to be able to use my quirk.
Quirks was a big deal in elementary school. It was a daily topic for almost all children, either talking about them or showing them off. Some children had already gotten theirs, and liked to show how good their quirks were to others. And soon it would be my turn.
- 3rd person POV -
''Habaki come get your shoes on we have to get to the quirk doctor in time.'' Said Ichika Takahasi.
''Coming mom.'' He said from the couch, walking towards the door with an excited pep in his step.
It was time for him to find out his quirk. He put his new shoes on he had gotten from his parents, and a jacket. It was his birthday today and it was finally time for him to find out his quirk. He and his mother walked to the car and drove off towards the hospital.
''So are you excited Aki-chan.'' His mother said with a smug grin. It was a name she had called him when he was a little baby but apparently she liked it so much that it had stuck.
''Yes I am.'' He said. He didn't really mind what she called him, as long as she said it with affection.
He didn't really try to be child his age when he was with his parents. They had figured out that he was different from other children his age. It seemed his acting needed a bit of refinement. His parents hadn't discouraged him for not wanting to socialize with other children outside of school, and that he didn't take the same interest in heroes as every other child. They just assumed he was much smarter than others which made it harder for him to want to be with others the same age as him.
The car ride was filled with music and small talk between the mother and son.
''We're here now.'' Ichika said as she parked the car.
They made their way into a building going up to the second floor with a sign labeled 'Quirk tests'. The waiting time for them wasn't long, as after 5 minutes after arriving a doctor came into the waiting room and called ''Habaki Takahasi will you follow me''.
Habaki and Ichika stood up from the chairs that had seated themselves in and followed the doctor into an unoccupied room. After going in, the doctor closed the door after them and sat down behind his desk. He looked at the duo and smiled.
''So todays the big day where you find out your quirk'' The doctor said.
Habaki just nodded eagerly without needing to act at all, he was truly excited to find out his quirk.
After taking an x-ray of Habaki's foot and a sample of his blood they waited 10 minutes for the doctor to come back with the results.
''Habaki only has one joint in his pinky toe which mean he does have a quirk Takahasi-san.'' The doctor said to his mother. She nodded and gave him a beaming smile, one which he couldn't help but reciprocate.
''After checking his blood sample, it would seem he has gotten a quirk based upon yours and your husbands quirk.'' He continued. ''Your quirks are Total Concentration Breathing and air manipulation right?'' He asked. His mother answered with a simple yes.
''Habaki's quirk could by all means be called wind breathing. Just like you he is able concentrate on his breathing boosting his physical stats, but it also allows him the manipulate the air he breathes. He can manipulate the air into attacks however he needs an outlet for his wind attacks. As it is, his body can't withstand the pressure of his wind if he was to perform them with his arm for example.
My best advice would be to limit the amount of quirk use until he can properly withstand the pressure. Avoid training too much he is still growing and it could stund it. Otherwise you might look into getting something you can use until then. I know you can get a bokken for a reasonably price, that way it shouldn't hurt Habaki or others if there is an accident''
Habaki had listened to the doctor speak with his full attention. He had a grin on his face after the doctor finished. He could increase his physical attributes and produce wind attacks. That seemed quite a bit more powerful than the other kids at his school. He wasn't sad that he had to use a sword or something similar to be able to make the wind attacks, no he was excited. He had always quite liked swords in his previous life, he just hadn't had the time to take time to learn how to use one. This was his chance to rectify that.

Yo, hope you're enjoying the story so far.
As most probably know by know his quirk is inspired and more or less taken from the anime Demon Slayer. I wasn't really sure how to describe wind breathing as a quirk and I didn't really have a good idea to be able to get the sword included with his quirk, so this is what I came up with. Sorry if it's a bit lackluster and dull, but hope you're still onboard.
Have a good day
