The two were entirely entangled in a whole mess of misunderstandings. Thinking neither of them desired each other when that was far from the actuality of what their hearts coveted. While Wu had convinced himself that she didn't want him, Yue felt the same from his side. She considered him to be a man out of her league, a man she didn't deserve.
"Let's go back." He turned to face the girl at last after uncertain moment of silence that the two were drowned in. His voice was calm and his eyes reflected no emotions whatsover, the earlier mischief dancing in his eyes was no where to be found.
"I don't want to." Yue replied back with an equally plain tone and grabbed a glass of whiskey out of the agitation that she felt. Perhaps if she were to consume this seemingly bitter thing she would have the courage to leap in, venture forth and kiss him herself, and not wait for him to take the first step. Maybe he would like a girl who was confident and took the initiation.
