Chapter 87: Familiar experience

Leaning forward, his lips curled upwards as his eyes flickered "The moment you do that, your family will cease to exist and I will make sure you hear their last dying cry" 

James' face went pale as blood drained from his face, his gaze was clouded with fear and disbelief as his ears kept on ringing.

"Keep your mouth shut and your family lives" Jake concluded with a smile adorning his face as his gaze scanned James, and James' reaction satisfied him, not even a battle-hardened soldier like James could withstand the pressure of his family's life being at stake.

The projection winked out as the men took the pyramid and left. 

James stared at the ceiling with an unfocused gaze, James suddenly felt like a lone boat on a raging sea. He had no one to comfort him like Angel always did. He joined Jake to gain both power and Angel... but now, he had lost both.
