The battle only lasted for a moment, long preparation, short conclusion, but in that brief, less than a minute, the significance it represented was immense.
It could truly be said that one was delighted while another was in despair, one wished to pummel the other.
Delta Force was led by a Major, and from the rank of the leading officer, it was clear that the Navy didn't regard Phantom as an equal opponent in the exercise. When the highest-ranking officer of Phantom arrived, Delta Force just sent over a Major, which obviously showed their contempt for Phantom.
But with advantage comes disadvantage, Delta Force never expected to lose.
Losing even one exercise was unacceptable because to lose to a rookie unit like Phantom would be a disgrace. It wasn't just a full defeat that was shameful, even losing a single match was too much of an embarrassment, so when Phantom Brigade suggested a two-round contest, it played right into Delta Force's hands.
