While cleaning the whole history section in the library, Mary came by and brought more books and left them on a nearby table. It took a few hours for Flint to clean up the whole thing, but now it was so clean that you wouldn't guess that there were layers upon layers of dust everywhere.
"Ah finally, it's clean. Now to find the books on the past seven hundred years of history... Well, I guess start from the first book. Ha~~h..."
After sighing at the amount of work he'd have to do, Flint started from the first book on the shelf in an alphabetical order. It took him a few days before he found a book, that had with what he needed. What he found was a set of books in four parts, describing the last three hundred years of war after the world breach happened.
The books described what happened, after the world of technology got a breakthrough in inserting the organs of magicians and other magic races into their people. That was the "Magic bag" experiment, in which his past self took part. Apparently after he died, the experiment started with new force and there were multiple breakthroughs, that helped their side to push the magic world back for some time. Until the enemy side found out how they did it, after that they found a way to counter it and it became another stalemate. In the next few hundred years it was a complete stalemate, with both sides taking inspiration from each other, what brought the both sides closer. In the final years, there weren't any battles happening and in fact both sides had a non-aggression pact setup. As for what happened to the world breach, in the end both sides built a city there. That place became a hub for both sides to have friendly relations. Since then people from both worlds, could safely move from one world to another.
After reading that set of history books, Flint found a few more that described what happened after creation of the city in the world breach. Which was aptly named by people as Breach City, there were a few more names for it, but "Breach City" stuck to it, was the most well known name and became its official name.
In the end what came out of it, is that both worlds became neighbors. You could take it as them being two neighboring countries of massive size and Breach City became a barrier for both sides. Even the city itself became self sufficient and a place, where the greatest minds stay. In these years of peace, most of the breakthroughs in both science and magic appear mainly there. And it also became the best place to learn. As for the worlds of magic and science, they got new names for themselves, with the magic world being called [Isterial] and the science named [Mechen].
"So in the end, neither side won. Ha ha ha." Laughed Flint. "Well, I at least in the end it came to piece and not destruction of both sides."
After finding and reading what he needed, Flint picked up the books on technology, science and magic. The goal with those was to finding out, what developments happened after his death. The information was more detailed than the war history and from how it was described, you could see that the authors were going all out, they were also signed by them which included the location where the original was written. Around seventy percent were written in Breach City, you could see how that place was the place of knowledge.
"There were a lot of changes and new discoveries, since I died. But there doesn't seem anything about the fusion of magic and science, I don't even see anything about people trying to do it."
Flint was stuck in the library reading books on every topic that he was interested in. He spent most of his time there for the past month, only going out to get food and other bodily requirements. Sleeping was done in the library on a couch and every time his parents caught him sleeping, he had a book laying near him. You could see that he took almost no breaks.
"Ha~h, Flint has been stuck in the library for a month now. It's like there is nothing else he needs." said Mary, sighing.
"Let him do what he wants, at least he stopped his crazy experiments. Though, last time I checked on him, he was reading theories on direct spirit usage." said Jack.
"I have this feeling that, he is specifically amassing knowledge for something big. It scares me, what he'll create after getting full freedom in the academy."
"Whatever he does, he'll have people looking out for him there. But knowing the people there, he will likely find those that think the same way as him. If he makes a team, now that is a scary thought."
After remembering how they were at his age and how they spent their time in the academy. Both shuddered at the thought of their son finding people like himself.
"Should we ask our professors, just in case anything happens? Knowing that his goal is on fusion of the magic and science, he'll likely take both majors and they will meet him then. And when that happens, they might think that he's crazy and knowing our son, he might drive them crazy..."
"Aha ha ha... Honestly, he actually might... Yeah, I'll call them today just to get them ready for anything. There is still half a year until he turns eleven and will be sent there. So I'll have to explain and recount everything he had done in his experiments in that time interval."
"Yeah, you do that Jack. I'll go try getting Flint out of the library." said Mary.
After having that discussion Jack went to his study, while Mary went to try and get Flint out of the library.
Once at the library, Mary found Flint placing a book back on the shelf. After which he stretched a bit and wanted to take another book from there.
"Flint, can you at least get out and breathe some fresh air. Staying inside every day for the past month, is bad for your body. You got out of the bed just a month ago, as well..."
After hearing what his mother said to him, Flint thought for a bit. In his past life, he was in special forces and gather as a lot of information without worrying about his body. But now that he was in a younger body, which hasn't been trained at all and heard his mother. He yet again understood how dumb he was and hit his forehead.
"Ah! Okay, I understand. I'll go take a break and stretch my legs, while I'm at it... Mother, are there any gyms nearby?"
"Phew, good thing you understood... Wait... What? A gym?" Mary stared at her son, wide eyed. "Ah, I think there is one nearby. Just check the map on your handheld, you do know that you need a membership to train there right?"
"Can I borrow some money then? I would like to get my stamina up and I think a gym would be the best place."
"Ha~h... Lets go together then, I'll pay for your membership. I think it is a monthly subscription for the membership, for how long are you gonna be going there?"
"When's the date when I start at the academy? Lets make it until then."
"Okay then, go get ready and I'll also get everything. We'll go out together."
"Thanks!"
As Flint thanked his mother, he went to his room. He looked around his room, found training clothes, which were never actually used, so they were as new and went out to wait for his mother. Soon the both of them, started walking to the closest gym that was shown on the map.
