Ronan kept looking between Callan and Liz, his mind struggling to grasp what he was hearing.

Mate? What was he talking about?

"What are you talking about, kid?" their father roared, his voice cutting through the night air. He hated being interrupted, especially during something as serious as this.

"She... she is my mate. I felt it instantly. Tell them. You felt it too, didn't you?" Callan's grey eyes bore into Liz, intense and unwavering.

Ronan stared at them, dumbfounded, trying to process the revelation. He'd never seen Callan take anything seriously, and yet here he was, with his eyes burning with fury for this girl he had never met.

Liz gulped, her eyes dropping to the ground. "I felt it too," she mumbled under her breath.

Ronan watched the tense exchange unfold, his heart racing with anticipation.

"You heard her. You have to let her go," Callan demanded, his voice firm.
