Suhle believed Tarkyn would never be happy among the Chimera because Zev would never trust him to carry the same kind of leadership that he did in the Anima.

And even as a little wail of pain pierced her heart at the thought, it settled deep in her guts… because she knew it was right.

She could see it, suddenly, how Tarkyn would stay here for her—if she asked him to. How he'd mold himself to this new people, this different way of life. And he'd devote himself to Harth, and stifle his own nature and… be less. For her, he would be less.
