"If he got rid of me in exchange for long life and power, how come he's so sick and weak?" Veron couldn't help asking, seeing how feeble the once great king of Silver Lake looked. 

"He was conned. The witch had no solution to his selfish desires so he gave the king a very potent poison that brought him down to this level. What I still don't quite get was why they specifically asked to eliminate you." Jadon put on a thoughtful look.

"It's because of the war. They've been planning it for a long time. With me gone, and the king like this, Silver Lake will be left vulnerable and easy to conquer." Veron uttered, realizing Cozan was right.

"How did you come about this? I tried to force out information from that witch about the reason they singled you out, but he wouldn't budge." Jadon asked, curious and surprised.
