Chapter 154: Welcome to Silver Lake

Karina's lashes slowly fluttered open the next morning and she fixed her eyes on the ceiling. The sound of the water from the shower made her realize that Veron was no longer in bed with her. 

Still, she didn't move. For some reason, her body didn't want to get up or leave the bed. She felt extra groggy that morning, and all her body wanted was to go back to sleep and not wake up for a long time. 

However, her eyes refused to agree with her. Much as she tried to keep them closed, they would snap back open as if there was something they needed to focus on.

She heard the shower stop and after a while, she heard the door to the bathroom open.

"You finally decided to join us. How was dreamland?" She heard the voice of the one person who had made her recent worse days a little bearable.
