Chapter 97: Too Late

If eyes were the windows to the soul then they were linked on a soul level in an extraordinary way. The both of them should have broken away after the save, but there was an intense connection where the both of them felt deeply drawn together. 

The eye contact was intense and Islinda felt nostalgic as she remembered the times they spent together. Her hand raised of its own accord and she placed it on his face, stroking his chiseled feature that seemed to be cut out of paper. 

The emotions rushed over and her eyes filled with tears. It dawned on Islinda with a startling realization that she missed the Fae. Though angry at him for hiding his identity from her, she missed him greatly. The past few days have been so terrible that she needed a breather. 

How did the both of them get to this point? Had he missed her too or did he forget all about her as soon as he came to the Fae realm and resumed his princely duties?
