Chapter 73: She Was A Murderer

The graveness of the situation dawned on Islinda as she stared at her bloodied hands. The rush of adrenaline and the need to survive had tapered off, leaving her to deal with the consequences of murder all by herself. 

What was she going to do? 

Even if she explained to the villagers that Remy had attacked and tried to kill her - surely they could see the handprints around her neck - she had not only stabbed Remy once but several times. They could have seen it as an accidental murder and she had done it to survive, but anyone staring at the scene right now could tell she meant to kill Remy. Her step-sister. What other motive could she need to kill her? 

No! Islinda shook her head in refusal. She was a good person. She would never hurt a fly, even the villagers knew that. Islinda had no idea what had come over her, but she guessed she finally snapped after years of abuse in Remy's hands - the late Remy.
