The sun rays peeking through the thin curtains woke Rick. He jerked awake, taking in his unfamiliar surroundings, till slow recollections of the night before flooded him. He fell back on the pillows and swept a hand by his side. The other side of the bed was empty, and for a moment, he lay there, reminiscing about the events of the previous night. The memories invaded his mind, leaving him with a sense of disbelief—he slept with his first love. Holy Shit!

He ran his fingers over the space where Olivia might have slept, a smile playing on his lips. The realisation of the shared intimacy lingered in the air, the feeling of her soft skin under his fingertips. He took a deep breath, hoping to capture the lingering fragrance of Olivia's presence.
