Chapter 140: Ending the Tol Family
"We have to chase after them!" the elder from Maza Family said, eying the direction of the Tol Family members with hatred.
"Not yet, let them think they are safe. I already put a tracking technique on one of them earlier. We only need to chase after them when they stop moving," Ryker told them, the elder grumbling but agreeing nonetheless.
"Now then, what happened while I was inside the place?"

"Damn it!" the injured Tol Family expert exclaimed, trying to tie the bleeding on the stump that was once his hand. Unfortunately, there is a trace of metal and sword qi at the injured location, making it harder for the man to heal himself.
"We have to search for the next peak. If not, we wouldn't even have a chance to attempt to get the final reward," another Genesis Core expert said, reminding them of the failed chance.
"That boy had become stronger. If not, he couldn't have injured me that easily," the injured expert said, nursing his bleeding arm as he ate more healing pills to heal his injury.
"There is no use to regret it. Now that we have fallen out with the Barony, we need to get as many treasures as possible. If not, we couldn't hope to start a new life elsewhere," another Genesis Core expert gave his thought.
The other two nodded in agreement. With no way to repair their relationship with the Barony, not like they intend to do so, they have to flee as quickly as possible if they wish to have a hope of living.
"Too bad, you already lost your chance of surviving a long time ago," another voice interjected, making them turn their heads towards the direction.
Their eyes widened as they spotted Ryker, along with the rest of the Barony main force already circling them, blocking their escape, to their despair.

Ryker inwardly laughed at the sorry face they made. He would have pity for them if not for their involvement in the destruction of Era's hometown.
"Seeing how all of you look so sad, I'm going to give you a chance," hearing his words seemed to give them a ray of hope. Oh, how he would love to stomp over that little ray.
"All of you will fight me. If you win, and that is a very big if, then you will be let go. If I win, well, there is no need to say anything more as that is the most likely outcome," he watched with glee as the group glared at him with hatred, seemingly insulted by the fact he said it as he could easily beat them if he wanted to.
Before, he could do it easily. After all, he could beat a 7th Stage Genesis Core expert easily enough, just ask one of the elders that he challenged. Now, with the increase of his power, with his cultivation rising one minor realm and the mastery of another Path reaching the Elementary Understanding, it wouldn't even be a fight.
The Tol Family seemed to think they had a chance judging by how they glared at him. "We accept the challenge," as they said it, the Genesis Core expert, the one that wasn't injured moved to his flank, while the injured remained at the center, coordinating with the Genesis Foundation experts to form what he believed a knock-off version of a battle formation.
He merely shook his head, knowing while they could pose a threat to him, it wouldn't be enough.

"Shouldn't we do something?" one of the Genesis Foundation experts on Ryker's side asked. He knew of the latter prowess but was able to defeat a 1st Stage Genesis Core expert and handling a trio of Genesis Core experts at the mid-realm is a very different thing.
"Yes, he could handle those insects easily," a Genesis Core expert, one that was in the know, replied. After all, he had fought against the young man before and it had been a close fight, one where he had lost. To learn the young man was holding back, unleashing a portion of his strength he didn't show to defeat a senior elder had been eye-opening, for there would always be a monster that you didn't expect.
The Genesis Foundation expert didn't look convinced, along with some others. There were even several Genesis Core experts who didn't seem to believe in his capabilities to finish the fight. Oh well, they would see why they do not need to intervene, their very purpose is merely to make sure no one escapes.

When they unleashed their attack together, they had thought that their victory was assured. This thought was shattered when Ryker emerged unscathed, coming out of a ball of water while the ball of water seemed to be layered with metal.
Seeing their look of shock, Ryker didn't bother to care much, opting to unleash a powerful attack right from the start. He created a huge fireball, one he had enhanced with his fire qi, making it hotter and more destructive.
He threw the ball at the gathered Genesis Foundation experts. Realizing the danger they were in, the group worked together to create a barrier, one strong enough to block an all-out attack of a 2nd Stage Genesis Core expert. With someone at the 5th Stage Genesis Core at the helm, despite his injuries, the barrier becomes able to block someone at the 4th Stage.
Unfortunately for them, it was not enough. The huge fireball easily burned the barrier, making the defender suffer from the backlash of having their technique destroyed. Before they could run away, the fireball hit them, unleashing an explosion that consumed most of the experts, the only survivors were one at the edge, though they suffered grievous injuries, which would spell their death if not treated.
He stopped bothering the dying experts, instead eying the remaining Genesis Core experts. The two experts gulped in terror before they tried to flee, not wanting to face someone who could kill them so easily.
He did several quick slashes, one that was barely realized. When the slash hit them both, they let out a blood-curdling scream as their limbs were cut off, all four of them. They fell to the ground, and some experts from the Genesis Core realm caught them before they could turn into a smear on the ground.
The Genesis Core experts dumped the Tol Family experts next to each other before Ryker did the same with the one hit by the fireball. He looked at their face, all of them begging to be let alive.
He scoffed as he leveled his blade to their neck, "Oh, did you give the citizen of Akuraz Town mercy?" their shocked expression told everyone the truth. "I don't think so. The reason I target you is because one of my lovers is the sole survivor of the town and the daughter of the mayor.
She told me of the treasure and the reason for the town's destruction. It's a shame she wasn't here but I think she would be glad when she heard that your family finally suffered from karma,"
He cut off their head by the end of his sentence, his eyes cold as he handed their death verdict.
