"Rex! Why are you here?" Danny was surprised to see Rex by Colleen's bed. "You..."
"This is urgent. It's a long story, but I'll explain later. Danny, I can heal Colleen, but I need your help!" Rex interrupted, cutting to the chase.
"You're good with detoxification? Great! Just tell me what to do!" Danny was overjoyed and agreed immediately.
Hesitation crept in, however, when he heard Rex's request: "I need to borrow your Iron Fist!"
Seeing Danny's hesitation, Rex smiled. "Don't worry. Shou-Lao gave you the Iron Fist, so no one can take it away. I just need to borrow the Ki it gives you. Think of yourself as a generator, lending me some electricity."
"You know of Shou-Lao?! Rex, I need to ask why you want to borrow the Iron Fist." The matter was serious, and he had to be cautious.
"Shou-Lao is Kunlun's Undying Dragon. This fist isn't just invincible, it's also 'undying'! It's special, with great healing powers that you haven't used yet."
Rex paused. "Believe me, if you lend me your Ki, I'll completely heal Colleen."
"I understand, and I trust you." Danny nodded, without a shred of doubt. "What should I do?"
"You don't need to do anything. Just don't resist when you feel me taking your Ki." Rex raised his hand, palm up, like he was doing a shoulder press.
"Hey, I can feel it..." Danny frowned, sweat forming on his forehead. "This feels bad..."
"Don't resist! If you're thinking about it, I can't take your Ki."
Rex was struggling. Borrowing Danny's Ki was harder than he expected. He was exhausted. Goku could borrow Ki from countless creatures to make a Spirit Bomb. Rex doubted he could absorb enough from Danny. What was the difference?
Rex realized that Goku was simply too strong. Everyone who gave him Ki was weaker. Danny, however, was far stronger than Rex.
Despite the difficulty, Rex managed to do it. Golden lines, visible to the naked eye, flowed from Danny's body, gathering in Rex's hands. They condensed into an egg-sized, golden sphere.
The sphere was complete. Danny, completely drained, lost consciousness and fell forward, his head hitting the ground.
"Danny!" "Boss... he..." "Rand!" The three exclaimed at once. Rex swayed the sphere, letting light fall on his hand. "He's fine, just exhausted. Two days of rest and he'll be good as new," he said to the girls.
Rex held the sphere and walked toward Colleen. "Colleen, we need to remove the gauze. Your wound needs to be exposed."
Colleen stared at the sphere in Rex's hand. Lorna, on the other side of the bed, reacted first, kneeling down to help Colleen remove the gauze. The black blood oozing from the wound was shocking, flowing slowly on her pale skin.
Lorna closed her eyes and gasped. The black blood was visible through Colleen's skin, spreading through her veins like a dark web. The poison had definitely spread.
"Lorna! Let go!"
Lorna jumped back at Rex's voice. He cupped the sphere in his hand and pushed it toward Colleen's wound. He released the sphere as it touched her arm.
Lorna and Joy gasped. The sphere vanished, and Colleen's arm suddenly showed its insides! Her veins glowed golden, then slowly returned to their normal red color. The poison was gone.
Colleen gritted her teeth, overwhelmed by a strange sensation. She moaned, unsure if it was pain or pleasure. Her face contorted, then she screamed, "AAAAH!"
Colleen sat up, gasping for breath. The light faded, leaving her soaked in sweat.
Colleen felt a slight itch and reached for her arm. She was surprised to find it smooth and completely healed.
"My god!" Joy was stunned. She unconsciously dropped Danny, who fell to the ground again.
Lorna's green eyes were wide open. She reached for Colleen's arm, disbelieving. "Is this not a dream?!"
