Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Hunt and Counter-Hunt

"You can't hide in the alley anymore, run!"

He took off his coat, which was wrapped around his bulletproof vest, and reached the end of the alley, tossing it out.

In an instant, thousands of bullets fired toward him, turning the coat into a sieve.

Kohen gasped, feeling as if he were staring death in the face. There were too many people and guns outside.

At this moment, a second RPG came flying in. The debris hit his face. He didn't have time!

He took off his two bulky bulletproof vests, bent slightly, and assumed a running posture.

The signal gun—this was the third RPG!

"Whoosh!"

"Boom!"

"Swish!"

His two bulletproof vests flew out in opposite directions, but faster than them was Kohen himself.

Like a flying leopard, he shot forward, the wind rushing past him.

Countless bullets flew by him, the scorching air pounding against every inch of his skin.

His mind was razor-sharp, and his dynamic vision was at its peak. Finally, among the thousands of bullets, he saw two deadly arcs of bullets.

His speeding body suddenly twisted, and the curved bullets missed.

But deep down, he was not relieved, because the sniper rifle still hadn't fired!

His speed remained relentless, his body now behind a sedan. He relaxed slightly, knowing this could shield him from most of the shots.

But the next moment, his heart jolted with alarm.

With unprecedented focus, he sensed a special spiral bullet easily piercing through two car doors, hitting his abdomen at a speed too fast for him to react.

"Fuck!"

The pain made Kohen scream, but he knew that staying still would mean death.

Grimacing in pain, he maintained his speed. In front of him was a large floor-to-ceiling window of a building's lobby.

"Bang, bang!"

Two bullets shot at him, but he pressed forward.

"Boom!"

The glass shattered as he leapt into the lobby, landing behind the reception desk.

The marble reception desk was sturdy, and though bullets rained on it, it was unable to destroy it.

With infrared vision, Kohen even had the chance to counterattack.

A few gunmen rushing toward the building were easily taken down by him.

Finally, he managed to catch his breath.

David's urgent voice came through his earpiece: "Knight, how are you? Are you badly injured?"

Kohen grunted: "Don't worry, I'm not dead yet!"

David sighed in relief: "Good, but now you have some bad news."

"Fuck, what bad news? Has Captain America resurrected to catch me?"

"Of course not. Your plan just worked, and the NYPD changed their primary objective for tonight."

"From capturing you to rescuing someone. The police around you are probably starting to retreat."

"Isn't that good news?" Kohen asked.

"Humph, are you sure it's good news?"

"When the police leave, it means you no longer have the chance to surrender to them. The ones left are all after your life."

"Surrendering to the police gives you at least a chance to survive!"

Kohen gritted his teeth: "I really appreciate your concern!"

"No need to thank me. The surveillance shows that a lot of the gangsters have retreated. Looks like the gangs in Hell's Kitchen are also feeling the pressure."

"But..."

"Two people who are clearly different from the others are approaching you!"

Kohen scanned the area, and through his infrared vision, he saw two agile, extraordinary red figures some distance away.

One had thick thighs, and his jumps were incredible. When encountering a car in his path, he leapt over it.

The other seemed to be wearing a thick combat suit, with many small heat sources, as if there were mechanisms built into it.

Kohen's heart stirred. These two must be from the Hunting Team, right?

The Jumper Bartok and Scorpion MacDonald arrived outside the lobby, one on each side.

A female voice came through their communication headsets: "Scorpion, Jumper, I don't have a sniper position here. Remember, your primary objective is not to kill or defeat him, but to lead him into a sniper's line of sight."

"My gun and Mr. X's gun are waiting for him! Be careful, his shooting is precise!"

Scorpion laughed softly: "No matter how good he is, he's already been shot, and I've seen the blood."

"Maybe I can kill him myself!"

"Don't be careless. He's dodged my shots so many times. He's not simple."

A middle-aged man's voice came through the headset: "I've reached a favorable shooting position. I'll support you at any time."

Bartok's voice rang out: "Honestly, I'm more worried that once we kill him, the surrounding wolves will try to seize the opportunity."

"Hey!"

Scorpion sneered: "Then we'll kill our way out. Let's see if they're really not afraid of death!"

The previous female voice said: "Alright, first deal with the Demon Face, the rest can wait."

Bartok and Scorpion exchanged a glance. "Bang, bang!"

Gunshots rang out as the glass shattered.

They charged forward, leaping over the flying shards of glass, one on each side toward the lobby's reception desk.

A flashbang was thrown by Scorpion, and Bartok, already prepared, shut his eyes at the moment of the explosion.

"Boom!"

After the blinding light, he had just reached the side of the reception desk when a dark figure suddenly lunged at him!

Its speed was so fast, far beyond his imagination. Before he could react, a cold dagger was driven into his throat.

A flood of red filled his vision.

The spraying blood drained his strength, and he slowly knelt to the ground, feeling a coldness spreading throughout his body.

Seeing this scene, Scorpion didn't even have time to be shocked, only to see the bloodied dagger flying toward his face.

He quickly turned his head to dodge, but immediately afterward, a powerful force slammed into his waist.

His internal organs churned, and even with the protection of the combat suit, he couldn't help but cry out in pain.

At the same time, two huge, serpentine arms wrapped tightly around his waist, their inhuman strength causing his bones to creak and groan.

So painful!

It wasn't until then that Mr. X's bullets arrived, but Kohen rolled with Scorpion, disappearing again behind the reception desk.

"Fuck!"

The scene stunned Mr. X. A thought surged in his mind: Is this guy even human?

I thought I was the ultimate expert, but who is this guy working for?

Back in the building, the Hunting Team's captain, Maya, slammed the ground hard.

In just one confrontation, half of the team had been wiped out?

She hurriedly called over the headset: "Scorpion, how are you? Scorpion, are you still alive?"

After a long silence, a strange voice came through: "I'm still alive, heh heh. As for Mr. Scorpion... well, his combat suit is quite tough, so I turned him into minced meat!"

There was silence on the other end of the communication for a long time before Maya's voice finally came through: "You weren't injured. This is your trap!"

"Heh heh..."

Kohen didn't answer directly. "Want to know the answer? Stand in front of me and ask me yourself!"

"If you don't dare, then hurry home and tell your fat old man. I've marked this account!"

"You're asking for death!"
