Chapter 65: Abomination's Rampage

A deafening boom reverberated through the halls as the Abomination forcefully burst through SHIELD's doors, leading ten humanoid beasts in a rampage.

Tat-tat-tat...

Bang bang bang...

Pistols, machine guns, grenades—none could inflict harm upon them.

"SOMEONE HELP!"

"Director, please, save us!"

"RUN! These monsters are unstoppable!"

"Hahaha... Insects, you shouldn't even exist. Perish!" the Abomination cruelly taunted, his laughter tinged with hatred.

"Bronsky, this power... it's intoxicating," one of the humanoid beasts mused.

"Killing brings me joy. I want to annihilate every last one of them," another declared arrogantly.

"Enough chatter. Let's seize Fury. That'll be a monumental victory," a towering humanoid beast urged.

The Abomination led his legion of monstrous beings relentlessly toward the deck. Any who dared resist met a grisly fate—beaten or trampled to death, their demise a testament to the ferocity of the onslaught.

Fury, standing on the aircraft carrier's deck, watched as General Ross issued the attack order on SHIELD. With the gates breached, hesitation was no longer an option. Any delay would result in the slaughter of his subordinates. So, he bellowed furiously, "Attack! Slay every last one of them!"

"Yes, Director!"

The SHIELD agents sprang into action, fighting back with everything they had. The deck turned into a battleground, with explosions and gunfire echoing through the air. Despite their courage, the agents struggled against the overwhelming power of the Abomination and his monstrous entourage.

As chaos unfolded, Fury shouted into his communicator, "Hill, get the Helicarrier airborne and deploy all available units. We need air support now!"

Hill's voice crackled back, "On it, Director. Reinforcements are en route."

In the midst of the turmoil, Tony Stark, clad in his Iron Man suit, arrived on the scene, blasting away at the humanoid beasts with his repulsors. "Fury, looks like you could use a hand!"

"About time you showed up, Stark!" Fury retorted, his voice filled with a mix of relief and frustration.

With Iron Man joining the fray, the tide of the battle began to shift. But the Abomination, unfazed, charged toward Fury, intent on capturing him. Just as the monstrous brute closed in, a web shot out, binding his arms. Spider-Man swung in, delivering a powerful kick to the Abomination's face.

"Need some help, Director?" Spider-Man quipped.

Fury nodded, grateful for the unexpected assistance. "Let's take these beasts down!"

As the heroes united against the Abomination and his monstrous legion, the battle raged on, each side fighting with relentless determination. The fate of SHIELD hung in the balance, but with the combined strength of their allies, hope remained alive.

With Fury's command, SHIELD operatives launched into a frenzied resistance.

The armory was unlocked, advanced weaponry distributed, and SHIELD superpowers unleashed to counter General Ross's forces.

Hawkeye stood tall, raining down explosive arrows with precision and speed, decimating Ross's troops below like a relentless bombardment.

Meanwhile, on his private island, Christopher observed the clash between SHIELD and General Ross with glee, popping open a bottle of champagne in celebration.

Taking a sip, he grinned, "Let the battle rage! Best if they wipe each other out. Then, no one will bother me."

"My lord, General Ross destroyed all the internet-connected loudspeakers. I can no longer mimic his voice through the speakers," Optimus reported.

"No matter. They're already locked in combat. Even if they reconcile later, they'll still be enemies," Christopher remarked.

On General Ross's end, he smashed every loudspeaker and audio device, then urgently instructed his secretary, "Catherine, relay my order: everyone, retreat."

"What? General, why the sudden retreat?" Catherine questioned, perplexed. Ross had just ordered an attack, then smashed the speakers, and now he wanted to pull back. She was baffled.

"That previous order wasn't from me. Someone was impersonating my voice. And if I'm right, it was Christopher," Ross explained angrily.

"Oh! What do we do now? Our forces have already engaged SHIELD, and there have been casualties," Catherine fretted.

"We retreat. We can't let Christopher manipulate us like pawns," Ross declared.

"But General, what if we retreat and SHIELD seizes the chance to strike us?" Catherine voiced her concern.

Ross took a deep breath, knowing the gravity of their situation. "Better to regroup and come back stronger. Christopher's goal is to keep us fighting each other. If we retreat now, we can re-strategize and confront him directly. Trust me, Catherine, we need to pull back."

Catherine nodded and relayed the retreat order. Confused but disciplined, Ross's troops began to withdraw from the battlefield, their movements swift and orderly despite the chaos around them.

Fury, observing the sudden retreat, quickly called off his operatives to cease fire. "Hold your fire! They're retreating. Let's not escalate this further."

Iron Man Tony flew down to Fury's side. "Looks like they figured out it was Christopher manipulating them."

"Yeah, but this isn't over. We need to find Christopher and put an end to his games," Fury said grimly.

As Ross's forces retreated, the battlefield grew eerily quiet. The temporary calm was fraught with tension as both sides licked their wounds and assessed their next moves.

On his island, Christopher watched the retreat with mild interest. "Looks like they caught on sooner than I expected. No matter, the seeds of distrust are already sown."

"What's our next move, my lord?" Optimus asked.

"We continue to build our forces and stay one step ahead. Let them come if they dare. By then, we'll be ready," Christopher replied confidently, already plotting his next move.

Ross clenched his jaw. "When we retreat, inform SHIELD that Christopher was behind the false order. If they persist in attacking us, then silence them—permanently."

As an ordinary man who rose to power, he relied on ruthlessness and ambition to reach his current position.

Even though SHIELD acted with caution, Christopher remained determined to dismantle them.

SHIELD had elites, including superheroes and individuals with extraordinary abilities, but their numbers were small compared to the vast enemy army.

As the attack continued, Hawkeye fired explosive arrows at the advancing soldiers, while tanks, artillery, and rocket launchers bombarded SHIELD from below, creating constant explosions.

Amidst the chaos, Catherine desperately coordinated retreats for her comrades, though her efforts were hindered by the relentless charge of their assailants. Seeing the rapid loss of life among her frontline troops, Catherine devised a risky plan to stop the bloodshed.

Using a torn white shirt as a makeshift flag, she frantically waved it and shouted, trying to convey a message of surrender and absolve General Ross of blame. Though her voice didn't reach SHIELD, her actions were visible from their deck, prompting Hawkeye to recognize her gesture.

Seeing Catherine's plea, Fury swiftly ordered a ceasefire, allowing her to instruct her troops to withdraw. Yet, the Abomination and his monstrous allies continued their onslaught within SHIELD's ranks.

With communication severed, SHIELD personnel scrambled to relay orders to stop fighting Ross's army, despite their lingering animosity.

Faced with the relentless assault from the Abomination and his cohort, Fury sent Hawkeye to neutralize the threat. Though lacking superpowers, Hawkeye's unmatched marksmanship and swift archery, supported by his comrades, made him formidable against monstrous adversaries.

Meanwhile, Catherine reentered the chaos within SHIELD's confines, confronted by a harrowing scene of carnage. Amidst the din of destruction, she heard the Abomination's chilling laughter, spurring her to intervene.

"Blonsky, General Ross commands an immediate retreat," Catherine declared urgently over the noise, her voice cutting through the chaos.

The Abomination, momentarily pausing his rampage, bellowed in disbelief, "Why retreat? Ross wanted SHIELD's demise. I've barely begun my work!"

Despite his protestations, Catherine's unwavering resolve urged him to reconsider his actions, even as the echoes of destruction reverberated around them.
