Chapter 25: 3 for the price of 1! -24

Alex had once again had a busy month. There is so much work to do running the Foundation. Not to mention that Alex himself wanted to be involved with events from the MCU. After all, it was damn hard to stay out of anything that has to do with such an exciting universe like this.

One interesting thing that had happened was a clue possibly leading to the Darkhold of all things. Now Alex knew of only a few SCP objects from the MCU and even fewer that could be contained. Most of the big ones, like the infinity stones, were far out of his reach.

The Darkhold, however, was something that was on earth and currently not held by anyone overly powerful.

In fact, it was currently in the hands of regular researchers and scientists. At the same time, it was still an SCP object with a high danger value. It was an object He dearly wanted to be contained deep within the safety of the Foundation.

He had, after all, seen that shitty doctor strange movie, where it played a significant role. So from that alone, the object was worthy of at least a Euclid or even Keter rating, mainly because there was a risk of someone wanting to steal it for themselves.

Who knew to just what extent that cursed book's corrupting powers could reach? Would it twist the minds of his men to try and use it to solve other SCP cases? Or would it instead reach out further and let others feel its position to draw them to it?

Whatever the case was, that book needed to be contained before it would change owner first. Alex had already plotted out the subsequent few owners, and while getting it from them wouldn't be impossible, it would still prove a lot harder and more costly than from the current one.

He would like to follow the case more closely, but he wouldn't want to risk anything by not giving his agents the freedom to act as they thought best.

Alas, such were the great sacrifices he made for the good of mankind. Him missing out on some fun against the risk of an incursion event.

"Today will be the sixth time I did this. Will you give me another surprise once again, System?" Alex said, looking at his own reflection on a computer screen.

"System summon a random SCP."

[Ding! Understood, Host; please stand by as the random SCP is summoned!]

[Ding! Warning! Host a SCP has appeared in the world and is outside Foundation control! Host is asked to deal with the situation and follow the Foundation's goal of Securing, containing, and Protecting!]

[Ding! Warning! SCP-204 has appeared!]

Alex held his breath as he waited for what he was relatively sure would happen. And indeed, it only took a moment before the System responded back again.

[Ding! Congratulations, Host, for meeting the SCP requirement for 6 months in a row! Host has been rewarded with an additional two SCP free random spawn from the System!]

"As expected, yeah, another two, all for the low, low price of the potential end of the world by some dangerous SCP." Alex mocked in a low voice to calm the beating of his heart.

[Ding! Warning! Host a SCP has appeared in the world and is outside Foundation control! Host is asked to deal with the situation and follow the Foundation's goal of Securing, containing, and Protecting!]

[Ding! Warning! SCP-4255 has appeared!]

[Ding! Warning! Host a SCP has appeared in the world and is outside Foundation control! Host is asked to deal with the situation and follow the Foundation's goal of Securing, containing, and Protecting!]

[Ding! Warning! SCP-053 has appeared!]

'Not the worst-case scenario. Sure that's two keters but their danger level is on the low side. Though keeping 4255 secret will indeed be costly.'

[Ding! Congratulations to Host for keeping the SCP Foundations' key goals in mind and ensuring they have been kept in the new world! In ensuring that normalcy has been protected Host has been rewarded with two random safe class SCPs within the containment vault 001 and Mobile Task Force Tau-5!]

[Ding! The Host is being rewarded for keeping the Foundation secret. All points gained from activities that serve to keep the Foundation secret are doubled!]

[Ding! Congratulations to Host for getting SITE-19, a class 5 Foundation facility in Wisconsin! 200 class B combat personnel, 5000 class C combat personnel, 500 research personnel, 2500 administrative personnel, and 300 maintenance personnel!]

[Ding! Congratulations to Host for getting SITE-98, a class 4 Foundation facility in Philadelphia! 50 class B combat personnel, 500 class C combat personnel, 350 research personnel, 100 administrative personnel, and 150 maintenance personnel!]

As the barrage of pings finally came to a stop, Alex could now begin to look the information over in peace. The SCPs were, while not good, also not as bad as they could have been given the Keter stamp.

This just reminded Alex that Keter just meant hard to contain and not always dangerous, though those did often enough go hand in hand for sure.

Though looking over the SCPs, Alex felt something was off somehow. Here he was, on the first of December, and he just happened to get SCP-4255? It just felt like getting Santa Claus now was not quite as random as the System said it was.

Not to mention the other two SCPs, which were both connected to children, one even being a child herself. Yeah, it just didn't sit right with Alex that this was based on total randomness. "Well, at least it's just the little girl and not the little witch."

He knew that there were quite a few child SCPs he could get, and some could be very dangerous for sure. Here, he only had to take care that any instances of SCP-204 didn't show up in the news. Better than dealing with a godly reality bender any day.

"At least you are willing to show me where one of these showed up for once." Alex said to his System as he looked at the locater tool, which for once showed the location of an SCP, that being SCP-053.

I guess there might not even be any instances of 204 out there yet. Though given the depth of the darkness in this world with Hydra and whatnot, it's only a matter of time before they show up.'

Alex could already feel a headache as he thought about the danger of Hydra or another group like them learning of 204 and trying to tame them, failing and then starting to attempt to mass-produce them by torturing and brainwashing kids.

'Yeah, we can't have that. Not only would it make it hard to safely contain them, but it's also wrong on just about every level. Damn, I kinda want to pull the Ethics committee just to make sure the Foundation doesn't go down the kids-abusing route with this one.'

"Anyway, thanks to this big surprise gift from you, I have plenty of extra work to keep me busy today." Alex said to his System with a shake of his head.

And he had a lot of work with two large new sites popping up. One even being a rare class 5 site. Those are big deals, but then again, SITE-19 is one of the biggest ones out there. Housing more than 400 SCPs, it's their own. Or at least they used to.

Now, he didn't even have more than a few dozen SCPs in containment across all his SITEs, much less just one. It really made him curious about how the System would reward him for summoning later on.

With almost 10000 SCPs and just summoning one every month, he could keep that up for more than 800 years without the risk of a penalty. Still while the Foundation is enormous, no absolutely massive. It would still only have two or three million staff members under it.

And if he got a SITE for every summon, he would quickly end up with a lot more than that. So unless he would end up with a billion or two agents under him, then at some point, the System needed to give him something else.

Sure he had gotten the quinjets back the first day here, but nothing since then. He also doubted it would be safe class SCPs as some of those could still be very dangerous. SCP-343 is an excellent example of a safe class with a high potential for damage.

Tech is an option, but given the stuff his SITEs all come with, there is little even the Marvel Universe can come with. It won't be long before he has fully caught up with Wakanda, which themselves are a few centuries ahead of the rest of the world.

'Maybe I should send Pym over to SITE-98? Then, we can start working on dealing with threats from the quantum realm? If Kang is hiding in there, it might be a good idea to ensure he can't come out when He Who Remains goes and dies.'

Alex leaned back and put his fingers together as he thought about how to go from here.

'Someone have to pick up 053 and take her over to SITE-19. Can't do much about 204, at least not before they start showing up. 4225 is also slightly troublesome in the sheer scale of the work needed to cover him up.'

"No, that's me thinking too limited here; I can do more, do better!" Alex threw up the file for 204 up on one of the screens in front of him and started to read.

'Hmm, if it wasn't for that mental effect 204-1 have on 204-2, they would be far easier to contain. I could just build a facility to take care of them there. Yet, they sadly can't be treated like normal children. Then there is the question of numbers.'

The file offered no clear clue as to where instances of 204-1 came from. Yet it had a clear trend showing a steady, ever-increasing number of them. The file he had access to said that the Foundation had 211 such instances in containment.

'A number that would only have continued to grow. And if this data is correct, then the growth would also have gotten faster with time.'

"Could reducing the viable number of 204-2 candidates stop the spawn of new 204-1 instances?" Alex pondered aloud.

'The key to dealing with these is those rare instances where the children didn't become violent. If we can find out how and why that happened, we could indeed contain these kids much easier and with much better conditions.'

Alex couldn't tell if his softness for children came from his new or old life, but he didn't like the thought of them suffering. He had no problem killing and torturing any number of adults, but kids just had this innocence to them.

"I do hope I also won't have to make use of article XII myself. It's one thing not helping these abused kids, another entirely to be behind their abuse." All Alex could do was pray he would just not get to that point. Then again, there are still plenty of candidates out there, for indeed, he understood how the Foundation dealt with the issue.

'Still, I have an idea for Pym and maybe another candidate for Alpha-9.' Alex thinks as he opens up a file for one Ava Starr or SCP-11111.

With a slight smile on his face, Alex started to write up a mission notice to his new task force, TAU-5.

[Mission notice – 11424/B8

TAU-5, you are hereby entrusted with the task of getting one SCP-11111 into Foundation containment. The difficulty of this task will mainly be reaching the target and ensuring that a containment chamber is ready for the object.

To achieve this, you are recommended to use whatever means you have to steal the data needed to build such a containment cell at SITE-98 from the organization SHIELD. This must be done without alerting them. Doing so would ensure that the next step becomes more difficult.

The second step will be securing the SCP object itself and placing it within its cell. For this, the recommendation is either to get the target to follow and be willingly contained or to have some kind of reality anchor built to nullify the effects of SCP-11111.

Given the nature of this mission, O5 command has given the approval to use SCP objects 005 and 034. However, neither of those objects can be lost under any circumstances!

Additionally, a list of all undercover agents within SHIELD is attached, as is a list of specialists to consult with any questions or requests for equipment.

The Director of SITE-98 has been given oversight of this mission. As such, all requests are to gain his approval.

Signed: Personnel ID – S224-6-04-A.

Personal assistant to O5-1.]

[SCP-11111 "Ghost"]

[Object Class: Euclid]

[Special Containment Procedures: SCP-11111's intangible nature makes containment challenging. A containment chamber designed to stabilize SCP-11111's molecules is recommended. Although this chamber cannot completely prevent SCP-11111 from phasing out, it discourages such behavior. Additionally, employing a quantum reality anchor is advised to mitigate SCP-11111's anomalous abilities.]

[Description: SCP-11111 resembles a young woman of American descent. Originally a normal human going under the name Ava Starr, SCP-11111 acquired anomalous abilities following exposure to a substantial amount of unstable quantum energy. This anomaly enables SCP-11111 to phase through physical matter. However, as a side effect, SCP-11111 experiences continuous, severe pain due to molecular instability. SCP-11111 demonstrates a willingness to cooperate in exchange for promises of pain relief or a potential cure. Currently, SCP-11111 is contained by the organization SHIELD, which has trained her to utilize her abilities for assassination missions. It is crucial to note that SCP-11111's compliance with SHIELD is driven by their provision of partial pain relief, rather than loyalty to the organization.]
