Chapter 35: Extraction
Meanwhile somewhere far away from all of them, I was standing above a certain man with wings and beside him were the other horsemen. They were all unconscious due to the explosion but certainly not in danger as the rest of the people here.
"What do you think?" I asked the floating Orb beside me
[Extracting the seeds would be easy but these two are crippled, are you certain you want to leave them like that] Queen asked while highlighting Warren and one of the other Horsemen
"Would the extraction make their situation worse or what"
[Not really but it will be incredibly painful for them… not physically but emotionally]
"If its just that, extract it… we can simply heal them afterwards… the seeds are way more important to me and also did you find anything within the artefact?"
The Orc was the form that Queen had chosen for the artefact. She had certainly made other changes to it in order to optimize it for her use but that would be discovered later and also the fact that she survived that explosion at point blank range proved that her durability had not being compromised.
[A lot actually, this thing is merely a log book of sorts… it keeps track of planets the Celestials have been to hence you received all the information it has gathered since the creation of Earth but it is still connected to a wider network of celestial artifacts all across the multiverse]
"English!"
[In simple terms, While inhabiting this thing… there will be a tiny number of things we wouldn't know] Queen stated
Hearing her, a smile subconsciously appeared on my face. Having a nigh-omniscient device by your side is always a nice thing, knowledge seemed to be a major part of my life in fact it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that I am the embodiment of the phrase 'Knowledge is Power'.
"That is great then"
[There are a lot of interesting things here] Queen muttered
"Focus... we extract the seeds first then deal with that later" I ordered
[Sure] Queen agreed as a golden light was shown on the unconscious group
The light seemed to have some weird effect on them as all their newly gained enhancements slowly faded away and two seeds rose from the bodies of two horsemen. The Life and Death Seed, two extra celestial artifacts used by Apocalypse to create potential successors.
[All done and they are back to normal]
"Good, take them back to the workshop… I'll heal these ones" I said as I bent down and placed my hand on Warren aka Angel as my nanocytes crawled onto his body, healing him.
It was already a miracle that Queen could somehow extract the Death and life seeds from them without killing them and with them going back to their original personalities. Normally to do that, you would need to infuse a life seed into the horsemen of death aka the holder of the death seed so they can return to normal and vice versa but Queen had made it look easy.
The nanocytes healed his wings and immediately moved on to the next ones. En Sabah Nur seemed to have chosen a set of people at random and made them his Horsemen, there was no real pattern here… well except for the glaring disability status. En Sabah Nur seemed to have just picked downtrodden mutants at random and given them power.
"That's probably why he always fails… even his clan Akkaba is made up off beta-level mutants"
With them fully healed up, I encased each of them inside an exo-suit to save them from the heat. Queen opened a portal and returned back to the workshop with the two seeds, leaving me with the four unconscious horsemen. Without any hesitation, I left them as well as the suits lifted them up and took them out of the rubble using smaller jet thrusters.
"Is everyone accounted for?" I asked as I landed in front of the black bird
"Yes" Katy answered
"They have all being loaded into the jet and we are ready for take off" Ororo said as she stepped out of the jet
"What do we do with the rest of the mutants here, I doubt we can take them back with us"
"We… have no choice, if the government finds a mutant here then they blame the X-men for the damage and if they do, more anti-mutant factions would rise" I said with a sigh
