Chapter 61: Chapter 61 The Reaction of New York City Residents
Wu Chen's primary tasks, as he called them, involved collecting payments from S.H.I.E.L.D., finalizing deals with Kinberg, and further ingratiating himself with Tony Stark. With no imminent battles and nothing particularly pressing, Wu Chen decided to have his two duplicates assume the roles of Naruto Uzumaki and Kakashi Hatake.
Naruto headed to S.H.I.E.L.D. to collect payments and also efficiently completed a few missions, pushing the progress of their role-playing game to sixty percent. Meanwhile, Kakashi went to Kinberg's location to impart his knowledge of mastering five Water Release techniques. As for Wu Chen himself, he set out to enhance Iron Man's favorability.
Of course, he also indulged in the delight of setting up a stall and observed the reactions among New Yorkers to the events of the previous night. With tasks set in motion, the three Wu Chens embarked on their respective endeavors.
As Naruto and Kakashi seamlessly disappeared into their tasks, Wu Chen leisurely brought out a handcart and strolled out of the door. Walking along the streets, not far from Hell's Kitchen, Wu Chen feigned surprise, gazing at the still-smoldering neighborhood. He casually inquired of passersby, "What transpired in Hell's Kitchen?!"
One of the individuals, a black man, looked taken aback. "You're not aware? There was quite a stir last night..." Wu Chen shook his head, "I turned in early, and my residence is well-insulated. Could you, sir, enlighten me on the events?"
Perhaps Wu Chen's use of 'sir' pleased the man, who promptly retrieved his phone and shared a video clip with Wu Chen. The footage, shot from a distance, depicted the Masked Man unleashing a fiery spectacle, engulfing the entirety of Hell's Kitchen and engaging in a fierce battle with Naruto.
After viewing the footage, Wu Chen wore a skeptical expression, "Is this some cinematic wizardry? How could mere mortals achieve such feats?" Seeing Wu Chen's disbelief, the man grew incensed.
He gripped Wu Chen's shoulder and gestured towards the billowing smoke, exclaiming, "My friend, how do you explain this scene? The firefighters are still combing through the rubble!"
"And observe the flames' position in the video, mirroring the current smoldering site? Let me assure you, this isn't Hollywood magic; I witnessed it firsthand!"
"The villain in the black cloak, the Masked Man, stood no chance against our Golden Flash! Indeed, he was ultimately vanquished by the Golden Flash!"
As he played the video, the man stressed the authenticity of his words, unable to contain his enthusiasm. "Golden Flash is remarkable! Naruto is unbeatable!"
"By the way, have you seen Golden Flash's debut video? Allow me to show you!"
Wu Chen watched the presentation with a smile, finally nodding in agreement. The man, now satisfied, noticed Wu Chen preparing to push his cart to set up his stall and willingly offered assistance. He drove his pickup truck, towing the cart to a spot not far from the Stark Tower.
Observing the man's departure, Wu Chen felt a sense of contentment. Little did he anticipate encountering one of his fans! This black man, named Mike, was an avid Naruto enthusiast!
The reason stemmed from Wu Chen's initial portrayal of Naruto, wherein he rescued Mike from Zetsu's henchmen. Unable to repay this life-saving gesture, Mike took it upon himself to uphold and promote Naruto's reputation.
The commotion from their altercation last night had awoken Mike, who resided nearby. He promptly investigated and fortuitously captured those videos. Today, he intended to utilize these recordings to spread the word and garner more admiration for Golden Flash, the superhero!
Wu Chen couldn't bring himself to harbor any ill feelings towards those who admired him. However, the presence of just one Naruto enthusiast didn't necessarily reflect the true sentiments of New Yorkers towards the previous night's events.
Thus, while vending his delectable crab burgers later on, Wu Chen diligently queried each customer about the events in Hell's Kitchen and their opinions on the matter. The majority confessed to being uninformed, only aware of the fire. Evidently, official intervention had taken place.
A minority, however, expressed their views: the Masked Man was villainous, and they were grateful to Golden Flash for thwarting his nefarious intentions.
In light of these responses, Wu Chen found solace in the notion that his efforts had indeed made an impact! Pondering this, Wu Chen felt content and resumed selling his burgers with a peaceful heart.
Unbeknownst to him, his repeated inquiries about the events in Hell's Kitchen had been relayed to Tony Stark by Happy, who had come to procure some of those delicious crab burgers. As a superhero, Iron Man Tony Stark naturally paid close attention to the happenings in his city.
The recent emergence of Golden Flash caught Tony off guard, as he had other pressing matters to attend to at the time. However, the substantial commotion caused by Golden Flash and another masked individual last night demanded Tony's immediate attention.
Who were these two individuals, and what were their intentions in New York? These questions gnawed at Tony's mind.
