Chapter 8: Vacation's Over

Remembering that Yinsen also had been shot, he forced himself to turn his neck and could see him breathing before he could ask Yinsen anything

Yinsen already said.

''Don't worry I will live''.

''Not Bad, not bad at all'' Tony replied.

They both laid there as he started going into thought while searching the piles of once was an escape machine, looking for something with his eyes before he found it, a shard of Glass.

Even though they were to recover from that mess he made, it would take some time before they decided to follow him up and that was the reason tony decided instead of to gauge the jetpack horizontally so he could gain distance and less risk of injury, he did it diagonally so he could alert the military who would search for an unknown aircraft that entered their airspace.

So somehow his backup plan ended here anything more than this and he would rather just die.

As if hearing his thought two helicopters flew by, that was when Tony used what little strength, he had to pick up the shard of glass and use the refraction of light to alert the helicopters and especially soldiers of his presence.

It worked like a miracle as they got attracted by the obstruction of light and where it was coming from.

Joy filled Tony and Yinsen's face especially when Tony saw Rhodes his friend, soon enough they passed out and couldn't tell what followed just after Tony mumbled something to Rhodes.

Following his eyes that slowly flashed open, taking in the view, he found himself in a hospital, he immediately sprung up and looked left and right for Yinsen who he could not see with him rather the ones he saw were Pepper and a couple of nurses and doctors discussing.

Pepper saw tony through the see through glass trying to get up as she called the nurses around her to start attending to Mr stark while also running towards him to help him up.

''Mrs Potts?''

''Mr Stark?''

''Is that red bags I see under your eyes for your long-lost boss''.

''Tears of joy, I hate job hunting''.

''Where is Yinsen, the bald scholarly looking man that was found with me?''

''Mr Stark he was kept in another room as it was found that he looks suspicious though he is still unconscious''.

''Suspicious? How long have I been out?''

''A little over a month sir and you still need to recuperate more''.

Tony at the mention of that immediately touched his chest and found a bandage at the place where his life saving arc reactor was supposed to be, looking over head his shoulders to the table beside him he found them all there.

The arc reactor, along with the shrapnel and the electromagnet that was sustaining him.

''We retrieved the equipment and that over there'' Pepper said.

''Right, vacations over, help me get up, I need to get going, we will continue the treatment at home, and tell the Doctors here to notify me if Yinsen wakes up''.
