Chapter 6: Chapter 06 - Secrets at school

Midtown School, New York.

Luke graduated a few years ago, he is in school because he works cleaning the classrooms.

It is almost night, his shift is almost over, he entered the last classroom, but ended up discovering a secret that he shouldn't have.

In the classroom, a man and a woman are hugging and kissing.

The man wears red glasses and is wearing a leather jacket. His name is Scott Summers.

In this world, Scott is married to Jean Grey and the two did not join the X-Men, much less join Professor X's academy.

Jean Grey is a teacher at Midtown School, Emma Frost is also a teacher and the two are very close friends.

The three super powerful mutants, because they are not encouraged by the X-Men or any other organization, in this world they are not so powerful.

Scott, for example, is only a level 3 mutant, just one level higher than Luke.

Jean Grey and Emma Frost are level 4.

By coincidence or not, Emma usually doesn't use her telepathic powers at school, so she couldn't see Luke entering the classroom and, consequently, catch Emma and Scott kissing.

Emma and Scott separated and looked at Luke wearing janitor's clothes. Luke instantly regretted having entered that room at that exact moment.

Normally, Luke doesn't meet them because they leave before he arrives, but for practice reasons, Luke increased his speed in cleaning and exercising.

His speed reached ⟪1.1⟫ and his physical strength reached ⟪1.2⟫, the values of an ordinary human being is 1 point. It may seem very little, but it is just the beginning of his journey of practice and evolution.

Back to the present moment, Luke is frightened by the discovery, he doesn't know that Emma and Scott are at a lower level than the stories of his previous life. For Luke, they are the powerful mutants, almost always the protagonists in the stories.

Now, when he discovered a secret like this, he knows that something bad is going to happen, he doesn't even need to be a genius to know that.

Luke smiles and says: "Eeeh... I'll be back another time, don't worry about me, you can go back to what you were doing."

"Wait!" Emma shouted.

As Emma called Luke back, Scott left the room. When Scott passed Luke, he looked straight at Luke and left.

"Professor Frost, I didn't see anything, I wasn't even here in the first place." Luke hesitated to approach.

Luke knows what Emma's power is, but knowing doesn't mean he can fight against it, he has no mental resistance, even though his mind has already reached ⟪1.9⟫, that doesn't even come close to Emma's telepathic powers.

"Just promise not to say anything, okay?" Emma smiled gently.

She sighed and then placed two fingers next to her own head. At that moment, Luke felt an energy invading his mind, as if he were searching for something in his memories.

Luckily, it didn't last long and Emma didn't find out much about her life. Emma was interrupted by the arrival of a tall woman with red hair.

Jean Grey entered the room and before she realized anything, Emma removed her telepathic energy from Luke's mind. She smiled and asked: "Jean, what are you doing here at this time?"

"I forgot a document that I need to sign in this room, but what about you?" Jean looked at the two of them and then a smile appeared on her face. "Does it seem like I'm disturbing something between the two of you?"

"No, Professor Grey. Excuse me, I have to go." Luke said goodbye and quickly left that room and then the school.

He didn't even look back, he ran to a bus stop. Luckily, it didn't take long for the bus to arrive and he got on.

Arriving home, Luke sat on his bed and sighed in relief.

"That was close." Luke muttered softly.

"I need to get stronger, I can't go on like this..." Luke got up from the bed, drank a glass of water and immediately looked at the plastic bench.

This is the same plastic bench as before, he used gravity control to decrease the gravity of the bench that began to rise.

Luke spent the morning training his skill, reaching ⟪1.9⟫ as mentioned before, Luke plans to reach 2.5 points before going to sleep, but he discovered this morning that the more points, the harder it is to cause exhaustion.

The bench rose and was 50 centimeters above the ground, he already did a test, he can continue for 10 minutes.

But he discovered a new trick, he can trade time for a greater improvement.

Exerting more mental energy, his skill improved and seemed to be exchanging energy for potential. The bench began to rise higher and higher, from half a meter to 70 centimeters, from 70 to 1 meter... 1 and a half meters and then to 2 meters.

When the bench reached 2 meters above the ground, Luke rolled his eyes and fainted, he fell backwards and was caught by the bed behind him.

He could only feel his 'Infinite Evolution' inform him that his mind had reached ⟪2.0⟫.

He woke up a few minutes later, it was already dark. Luke tried to get up, but felt that even with all his strength he could not move an arm or his legs.

His body and mind were very tired, but the energy of his 'Infinite Evolution' ability was recovering his physical and mental energy.

This is another new thing he discovered, when his attributes evolve, the exhausted energy recovers through Infinite Evolution. Of course, it is not instantaneous, it takes a certain amount of time, depending on the level of exhaustion.

Feeling his mind and body recovering, he began to feel that his gravitational control ability had undergone a qualitative change. It seemed that now that his mind had reached 2 points, his ability began to have traces that it was approaching level 3.

It was a shame that he couldn't see the progress of his skills and attributes. After all, it's not a system, even if it looks very similar. It's a skill.

Even the attribute points that Luke feels are just an instinct brought by the mutant ability. There's no voice telling him or a panel in his vision.

"It seems that I won't be able to train anymore today... Okay, tomorrow I'll think about what to do about the problems that happened today..." Luke muttered, his eyes closed and his mind screaming in pain and his body heavy from how tired he was.
