Chapter 22: CH22- It’s Called…

Azrael Maximoff View

I walked down the street towards the coffee shop to meet Pablo. After waking up from Wanda's lap, I spent some time with everyone before ordering breakfast. After we all ate like a cute little family, I exited the house.

While walking, I discreetly practiced my Dabi powers to make sure I was up to date. I did this by changing the temperatures around me. I wasn't very proficient in this technique, but I was gaining some noticeable prowess.

I stopped practicing as I approached the shop. I walked in and briefly scanned the surroundings. I immediately recognized Pablo's face and strode over to him. I sat across from him at the table as he looked at me.

"Alright, further explain yourself."

"Okay. I've been looking across the internet and the markets, and I've noticed a spike in specific genre in games. So if I manage to create a perfect amalgamation of the most popular things out right now, I could take the market by storm.

But, I'm not tech savvy by any means, so I need your help to create the game and get it published to app stores and then when it gets bigger, we turn it into a console game." I projected to Pablo. Pablo nodded and looked around before turning back to me.

"What's hot right now?"

"Nothing else matters except the hottest genre out right now. Role-playing games. People are killing for this. Final Fantasy, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Dark Souls, you get it." I explained.

"Okay, so you want to make a fighting role-playing game because that's what's hot."

"No, not primarily fighting. I have a different idea." I said as he leaned into the table more, seemingly enticed.

"It's called Undertale.."

'I'm getting a bit tired of this.' I thought. I was practicing my Chaos Magic by floating around the living room to maintain concentration and control.

I was heavily focused but was brought out of thought by the door opening. I looked at the door and saw Pietro and Hisako leaving the house together.

As his sister, I had nothing but admiration for their relationship, but I think the two are spending a lot of time together. Even though we have new identities via fake digital footprints and such, HYDRA was a relentless organization and were more than likely still looking for us.

I felt that the two were being too leisure.

'Hah. Well, I guess they have the least complex powers of the group, so mastery over it isn't overly necessary.' I accepted that and continued practicing my powers.

"Me and Hisako are going for a walk, we'll be back."

"You don't have to tell me when you're leaving. We're adults Pietro." I smirked.

"Right." He nodded at me and left the house with Hisako. Shortly after they left, Chris also left the house.

"Where you going? You don't usually leave the house?" I asked in curiosity. Chris usually stayed in the house, played games, and consistently train his powers. This is the first time he's leaving the house.

"I have to… I wanted to get out of the house. Tired of being here all the time." He said with a presumably fake smile. I could see right through his lie. Pietro used to lie just like this when we were younger.

"Oh, okay. Well if you run into any trouble, make sure you call any of us." Chris nodded and left the house in haste. I stopped practicing my powers and walked into Laura and Azrael's room. Laura, like Chris, rarely leaves the house.

The only time she leaves is when Azrael lets her tag along with him on particular trips.

Laura was calmly staring out of the window, watching the birds as they flew along.

"Laura?" Laura answered with a hum, not looking away from the window.

"Do you ever get bored of being in the house all day?" I asked. Now that everyone seemed to be busy all of a sudden, I felt a bit lonely. I was looking forward to this step in life and I still am, but everything moved so fast. It feels like I was left behind.

"Every full moon." My eye twitched slightly, seeing as we haven't even been here for a single full moon phase.

"Well, would you like to accompany me for a walk of the town?" Laura looked away from the window and turned her gaze to me with an expression I couldn't quite read.

"Sure.." She trailed. I smiled at her answer.

"Great! Get dressed accordingly, we have a long day ahead of us." I stated enthusiastically before rushing out of her room and back onto the couch.

When I was far enough away from the apartment complex, I decided to put a technique that Azrael taught me into practice. Lightning crackled across every part of my body. With pristine control, I managed to not singe my clothing.

I chose a specific direction that I remembered like the back of my hand and ran. I felt eccentric at this unfamiliar feeling as I ran.

'Is this how Pietro feels when he runs at high speeds?' Of course, I was nowhere near as fast as Pietro, but this speed was fast enough to leave after images as I ran.

Initially, the location I'm going to is around half an hour away from the apartment by car, but with this Azrael deemed, "Lightning Cloak", I cut that speed down by 15 minutes, give or take.

I slowed down the closer I got before coming to a complete stop. I hid behind a tree in front of the house and observed it.

'The same red and blue Hondas that they always had, even since that day.' I thought with a bitter smile. I was at my parents house. I was only 18 when HYDRA took me. I accidentally exposed my powers to my parents, and in a fit of panic, they called a number for people who they thought would help me.

In reality, it was HYDRA. And when they learned of my powers, they kidnapped me right under my parents noses and sent me to their base in Sokovia.

I activated my lightning cloak and ran up to the front door. I rung the doorbell and ran back behind the tree. I waited patiently and saw my mom open the door.

"Hello?" She called out. A small tear slid down my face as I looked at her. I hadn't seen her face in three years. I was starting to forget how beautiful she was. She closed the door with a shrug and went back inside.

I sighed sadly and turned away from the house. I ran off back towards the apartment with only one goal in mind.

'Get stronger to help Azrael get rid of HYDRA. Permanently.' I solidified in my mind.
