Chapter 75: Alex's apology

It was from Alex, asking whether she would come over to meet him or if he should come by to pick her up.

Lilian frowned at the message, feeling a mix of irritation and unease.

"He must be so excited about this dinner," she muttered to herself. If it weren't for Allen convincing her, she wouldn't have even considered seeing him.

She typed a quick reply:

[I'll join you, but send me the address.]

Moments later, the address came through. She realized he had chosen a quiet park hotel.

"A park hotel? Really?!" she scoffed.

These kinds of locations exuded a romantic atmosphere, and Lilian quickly suspected that Alex was attempting to woo her once more.

She forwarded the address to Allen. "Just in case," she thought as she returned to her work. She couldn't afford to take any chances with Alex again.

Remembering the past, she whispered to herself, "I can't believe I ever trusted him!"
