Chapter 13: The Masked Man

Ariel walked herself inside the castle. She wasn't given a tour guide. She found a room nearby and decided to go in due to curiosity.

Opening the door, she heard some creepy sounds that sent shivers running down her spine. Getting inside the dark room she found the switch and turned the light on. The room was not as bad as it may seem. It had a beautiful sigh to behold.

Ariel toured around inside the room. What caught her attention was a mask on a stand. The mask looked horrific, Ariel was terrified. It almost resembled the one the huge creature wore in her dream. Maybe it might be a coincidence. The question was; why would someone wear that kind of horrific-looking mask?

Ariel found a spacious king-sized bed. She was so excited that she missed her steps not knowing that the bed was a bit high. She almost fell to the ground when she felt a pair of strong hands holding her, preventing her from falling. Ariel's heart skipped a bit. She pondered on what to do next.

The man held onto her waist to guild her steps before he left her to support herself. Ariel was taken aback. She somehow felt safe in his arms. Turning her back, she saw a tall figure with a similar mask. The tall man that was standing in front of her was like a demigod.

Ariel was speechless. The man removed his mask and placed it on the stand. His long hair fell on his shoulders, his hair was beautifully trimmed. His blue eyes shine brightly and it was as if she saw sparkles in them. A straight mark came across his left eyebrow. His manly figure was breathtaking. Ariel couldn't help but gaze at him. It didn't cross her mind that he was the King of Vallat so she reminded calm and came back to her senses.

"I'm Princess Ariel of Macbeth, I'd like it if you kindly lead me to where your King is. And thank you for saving my head from getting swollen." She bobbed a curtsey to him.

A frown settled on the man's face. He didn't expect her actions. He played along with her and left the room without a word.

Ariel watched his back as it disappeared from her sight. He was beautifully handsome if there's any word like that. Ariel just hoped to see him again.

Meanwhile, the man wasn't happy with the way Ariel acknowledged him. How dare she disregard him? He didn't care if it was her fault or not. He was never considerate. He thought that since Ariel was here then the Prophetess would be in search of him. Without thinking twice, he teleported to his room. He removed his armor and got dressed in his royal outfit and headed to the throne room where he guessed Amira would be waiting.

His guess was right, Amira was standing in from of the large wall mirror in the throne room. She was trying to act like a seductress in the mirror. The cold man caught her unawares and sat on his throne peacefully waiting for Amira to notice his presence.

Amira took some hours admiring her body in the mirror. The cold-looking man got pissed up and let out a small cough.

"Ahem!"

The Prophetess was shocked and quickly moved away from the mirror. She composed herself and sat back in her seat. Not that she was scared of him, it was because she was surprised by his unannounced arrival.

"You caught me unawares. Where were you?"

"The Kingdom of Gishon crossed their boundaries this time." He said still with a serious expression.

Amira understood what he meant so she didn't ask any further and proceeded to the main reason why she came.

"Princess Ariel is here." She informed. But he wasn't surprised by the information.

"I saw her." He called out to one of the palace guards and ordered him to bring Ariel.

Ariel on the other hand was close to the throne room. She must have come a long way to reach the throne room. She saw the guard coming out of the place. The guard passed the message to her and brought her to meet the King.

The Prophetess's lips curved into a smile on seeing Ariel. Ariel was savoring every moment she had to view the throne room. It was comfier and larger than the one her father had in Macbeth.

Ariel didn't notice the King earlier. The Prophetess disrupted her thoughts and spiked first.

"Ariel, I have here with me the King of Vallat." The Prophetess smiled as she couldn't wait for Ariel's reaction. She got the opposite of what she thought.

While Ariel's gaze met with the majestic-looking man that sat on the throne she widened her eyes in disbelief.

"You...Y...You..." Ariel shuttered and passed out. What's wrong with her?

The King didn't even mine an inch as the guards hurried and took Ariel to the physician.

Amira on the other hand thought the King had something to do with why Ariel passed out. She gave the home a stern look.

"Don't look at me like that. I did nothing wrong." He said trying to defend himself.

"Did you let her see your vampire form?" The question came too sudden from the Prophetess' mouth.

The King of Vallat was pissed by her question. "I'm not dumb to do something like that. I'll never show her my true form." He uttered ruthlessly.

"You better not show her, she's a human and she's far different from us. Don't you dare scare her to death or you won't like the consequences?" Amira said almost yelling as she left the place living him alone in the throne room.

Damn, she was really mad to the extent she threatened him.

"Amira, your threat does not have any effect on me. You better back off." He said almost in a whisper after the Prophetess disappeared from his sight. Her threat did not affect him.
