Chapter 98: The Truce

Maria walked into the same restaurant she had previously wrestled with Vincenzo over her brother carefully. That incident seemed like a lifetime ago, although she was curious to see if there would be a rehash. 

When Vincenzo called her to plan whatever this was, she didn't quite know what to think. It only suddenly occurred to her that she had the upper hand now and could do as she pleased. So she thought to give it a shot. 

As soon as she stepped into the VIP area reserved for them, a man ushered her into where Vincenzo was already seated. Her heart did a double beat when she caught sight of him. In the two weeks she did not see him, he let his beards and hair grow so wild he looked like a caveman. 

A hot one at that. She dragged her mind out of the gutters but not before she was presented with a picture of what it would be like running her hands all over that wildness. She really couldn't believe herself.
