Chapter 35: The bitterness
MARIA'S POV
I couldn't believe my ears, so. I kept my eyes on his face, hoping to God he was joking. There was no way in hell he was going to make me clean after the dogs. Suddenly, the thumping of my heart when I walked into a shirtless Vincenzo seemed nothing but a distant memory.
I hated this man standing before me and his guts. He turned to whatever he was doing in his closet, completely shutting me out. Barely a day in his house, and I was ready to lose it. I Maria, the most prominent business tycoon under forty, was playing a maid in the place of an enemy.
This right here would make for a ridiculous telenovela. I stood contemplating if I should drag the matter any further, but I guess this was the end of it. Either I did what he asked, or I didn't get to see my brother. Sighing frustratedly, I stomped out of his room furiously.
