Things were quiet at the institute when Trip returned after completing his latest assignment, and he wrote out his report and headed for Security. Once he turned it over, he had one more thing to do, and then he’d say hasta la vista to all things BIMOS.

He was just approaching Ridley’s office when he heard the head of security yelp.

“Ow! Jesus, are you always this ham-handed?”

“Sorry. If you’d come to me when this first happened, it wouldn’t have gotten so infected.”

Trip walked in to see one of the doctors slathering some kind of ointment on an ugly-looking wound on Ridley’s arm.

“Whoa, dude, that’s heinous!”

Ridley scowled at him. “That damned woman bit me.”

“You finally caught up with her?” Trip knew until the time Deuce abruptly resigned from BIMOS, one of his main tasks had been tracking down the woman who had taken the only surviving baby and returning her and the boy to Dr. Gautier.

“Yeah. I paid her back for the years she eluded me.”
