In the aftermath of that day many changes took place. First Petyr Baelish ran to the Vale, he saw that monster and was one of the first to push over women and young children to escape which was seen by many nobles and commoners alike, damaging his reputation greatly. He fled so quickly he didn't even retrieve the gold he embezzled and stashed away, he felt safer at the Vale. Once he heard the Starks had a dragon larger than Balerion, then he really didn't want any part of the war or Starks. He felt if he just waited it out let them all just kill each other while he ruled the Vale with Lysa Arryn and their son Robyn, he felt his time would come. He would just keep a close eye on the Starks and just wait for the right time.
Varys was another but he didn't run, rather he saw where the winds were blowing. Even though he hated magic, he feared that monster more and knowing there were other possibly more powerful monsters heading south it overruled that hate. He switched to team Stark instantly. He was getting his dragon to rule the kingdom even if it was led by a wolf, so he began to plot against the queen and the bastard children. But due to two of them going missing he would focus on getting the Queen found out on her incestuous relationship which would damage King Roberts rule, then he can easily place Cyrus on the Iron Throne or any one of the Starks would work. Even Eddard Stark would be able to easily claim the Iron Throne, it was well known the history of House Stark. Kings of Winter.
The Queen was even more terrified, she couldn't find Myrcella or Tommen and her brother was seriously injured. Although he would live he would be expelled as a Kingsguard. She didn't fear the coupé getting out, only a handful knew of the plans only a few remained alive after the attack. She would deal with them another time. Once her brother was removed from service he would leave her in Kings Landing and marry a noblewoman of their father's choosing, that was her main concern. It was her who told Robert not to release Jaime from the Kingsguard after the rebellion, going against her fathers wishes to have his heir back.
Grand Maester Pycelle was in the same boat as the queen. But rather than worried about himself he worried for the Maesters in general, for years they had been trying to rid the world of magic. Until recently they have had much success, but seeing what attacked here in the capital he now felt they made a grave mistake. He knew the main reason they waged war against magic was purely out of jealousy, the Maesters had tried to learn magic for years with no success. After realizing that not everyone could wield it and only a select few from Targaryen bloodline, they began experimenting in eradication techniques using various means. Causing stillborn births in the Targaryen descendants amongst many other things, such as creating the disease Greyscale and was the cause of Dorans gout and Tyrion's dwarfism.
Seeing the display of powerful magics used by the young Stark and what he was able to survive spoke wonders, not to mention he commanded a dragon that could wipe out any realm with ease, it didn't bode well for his Citadel if Cyrus found out about their secret war on magic. He was going to be conveying a message to the other Maesters to plan what to do next.
The Yellow Emperor on the other hand was ecstatic, his line has been searching for that next step in magic for generations and he felt even his own mana stirring. He knew his next destination, whether Julia joined him or not, he was heading to Winterfell. He was amazed by the dragon as well, the fourth Yellow Emperor had married a Valyrian noblewoman and kept a dragon at court. So his line knew dragons well. However, that monster that showed up was like nothing he had seen. An Evil like none he felt before, and he has delved into some dark arts.
He knew when he found that wolf he would offer him anything to get to the next level in magic, like those he witnessed. He had an Empire to protect after he killed the Azure Emperor and retakes his capital city, he would need power like that. He would learn from the wolf and create powerful followers to defend against these undead. He wasn't dumb enough to think the undead would stop at Westeros, it's only natural they would eventually reach Essos and farther east. All those troubles on the way here felt worth it, he packed his things and would leave for the north that following morning.
Tywin Lannister, the head lion himself was both happy but also terrified. He was glad his son lost an arm, he didn't approve of Jaime joining the Kingsguard. He had been trying to get him dismissed since the Mad King and even asked King Robert after the rebellion to dismiss him, but he was rejected. Now Jaime would be able to take his rightful place as heir to Casterly Rock, we would be able wed and have children. As Kingsguard it was against the law to own land and have offspring once you became one.
All he had left was his youngest son Tyrion who he despised, he still hadn't been back and there hadn't been any ransom requests so that was another plus.
What he was terrified about was the news he received from Kings Landing. Not just a monster showing up that was supposed to be just stories, but the Starks strength was immeasurable so he has cut all communication with the Bolton and Dustin houses. He knew the lion was beaten, in fact they didn't have to do anything. Just do nothing if or when his realm is attacked by the same thing, they wouldn't stand a chance. The threat was real, and much more dangerous than what was told in legend. He believed the reports he received because he received the exact same description from different spies that didn't know each other.
He was even aware of what his daughter Cersei had attempted, and he couldn't believe she would do something so stupid just because he was going to wed her children to northerners.
A house that is now the most powerful of the seven kingdoms and now his two grandchildren are missing right under their mothers nose.
He felt the need to fix their relationship with the North, but how, he wasn't sure. He had thought about turning over the Boltons correspondence but he thought better of it, wouldn't take a genius to discover his own letters content. But he had also received a summons to Kings Landing, he didn't like where things were heading.
Roose Bolton upon getting the news from Kings Landing knew they had messed up. His own hubris had landed his house in their spot now, he even had thoughts of killing his bastard Ramsey Snow. Ramsey had been torturing people more and more to where word was spreading regarding his lands, he was afraid the Starks would investigate and find him just as responsible as his bastard. Sure, Roose loved flaying people as much as the next guy, but he was smart about it. He only chose from his own people so when people went missing he could control the spread of news, but once Ramsey started just taking women and children due to all the warriors traveling beyond the wall carrying weapons they couldn't compete with. But because of all the traffic, word started to spread of people traveling in Bolton lands were going missing, Boltons were known flayers. It was even their sigil, an upside-down flayed man on a rack. Roose felt if his house were to survive past this generation of Starks they may be able to take the north then, but from what he's also seen there may not be a north to win if they lose to the undead. He planned to send Ramsey beyond the wall, hope he gets killed then he could show Ramsey as the culprit alone. He would play the part of being under the Starks, keep focused on the long game. His next biggest headache besides his bastard son was his sister-in-law Barbrey Dustin. She had always caused him trouble since the death of Domeric Bolton his true-born son cause she blamed his bastard for her nephew's death. Many did, after Domeric returned from squiring for Lord Horton Redfort in the Vale he found out he had a bastard half brother. He was excited and searched Ramsey out against his fathers wishes, Domeric had always wanted a brother. Soon after he attempted to form a sibling connection he died of dysentery, but many believed poisoning was what killed the young Domeric and that Ramsey did it so he would be the heir to Dreadfort.
Ramsey always claimed to be a true-born Bolton even though he wasn't, if anyone contested his claims he got cruel and took to the family practice of flaying people alive. His favorite sport was stripping young beautiful women naked and releasing them into the woods and hunting them down with his dogs. If they gave him a good hunt he would rape them, kill them, flay them then feed them to his dogs while keeping their skin for a trophy and naming one of his dogs after them in their 'honour'. If they didn't give a good hunt he raped them, flayed them alive, then fed them to his dogs.
Roose had known for a long time that Ramsey was going to be the end of him. He regretted not killing him as a babe when his mother first brought him. He almost killed them both because he didn't want the Starks to find out that he had killed the women's husband on their wedding night when he came upon them when he was hunting. He killed the man for denying him the privilege of the first night, hung him from a tree and raped the woman under his swinging body. But due to the baby having his eyes, it's what stayed his hand from killing Ramsey. He ended up paying the woman off to keep quiet of who the boy's father was, but after Domeric's death he had to take Ramsey in.
Lastly Barbrey Dustin started to become unhinged, she had lost so much over the years. First her husband William Dustin, then it was her sister's only son Domeric Bolton. The last hit was the loss of Harwood Stout, even though his heir Rhygar Stout was a capable warrior and dutiful, he was worse at lordship than his father and he was young. His older cousin Lothyn who ran the estate for Harwood when he was out on Dustin business had circumvented the line of succession, this caused a civil war which weakened them even more. Every avenue Barbrey tried to get her revenge against the Stark family she would lose something. Many of the houses under her began to jump ship and submitted to other major northern houses such as Tallhart, Flint and Stark since those were the closest houses.
Barbrey was the cause of both her fathers House Ryswell and her late husband's House Dustin downfall. Now both houses stood alone and her three brothers were unwed and had no children, rather than abandon her place in Barrowtown due to no staff or help working the fields she committed suicide thus making House Dustin extinct.
House Ryswell after finding out about Barbrey's suicide had officially and unconditionally surrendered themselves to the Starks, they did receive clemency for their actions against House Stark after they fully disclosed Barbrey and their actions. They were also tasked with assisting in defending the Wall.
Back in Winterfell Cyrus was resting peacefully after his exhausting battle, upon waking up he quickly checked his bags. He wanted to shout just like his brother did when he picked up his new favorite weapon, Marrowgar's Bone Axe.
He was expecting only a few drops like the Night King, however that wasn't the case. He had solved his groups armor issue, well partly. Rather than a few drops, he received all twelve drops Marrowgar had a chance to drop. There were armor and weapons that although were just the standard ten man edition and not set pieces, they were level 251 gear and others could really use them once they leveled high enough. Around level 60.
'Guess I need to find more bosses so I can equip my own group. I wonder if there would be dungeons now that I could find.'
