Much has happened in the time leading up to the tourney. Cyrus had not only reached level 70 he had saved enough people to earn an achievement giving him an additional title of 'Bringer of Hope' with it came a dwarven looking chest in his inventory labeled 'Hall of Champions'.
Immediately after receiving it he had notified his family of what he had found excitedly telling them of its use. He no longer had to worry about training help against enemies anymore and class abilities would be easily gained rather than having to learn the long way thru trial and error.
After a lengthy discussion it was decided to place the Hall of Champions in Winterfell rather than Kings Landing. Even though Kings Landing is farther from the Wall and more people would have access, Winterfell would be the staging ground for the war with the dead anyway and Kings Landing was vulnerable from the sea. Plus they only wanted to grant power to those that are willing to fight the dead. If it's done in Kings Landing it's hard to know if they really went north or not after gaining power.
So he used the flying machine to head home to station the Hall of Champions, Arya upon finding out demanded to be brought home to see as well. Upon his arrival in Winterfell he saw his family along with Daenarys staring at his flying machine with amazement. After running through events and having to give explanations on the word that had gotten around of his deeds in Essos to his mother, he set up the Hall of Champions where the soldiers and guards of Winterfell trained. He would set up another training ground elsewhere for them.
As almost everyone watched as Cyrus was clearing the spot, Daenarys and Ygritte were busy sizing each other up. Ygritte mainly looked between the two baby dragons on Daenarys wishing she had one, while Daenarys was trying to see if she was a threat and was trying to think about how to join Cyrus. She already didn't like that she came sitting in his lap.
After the hall magically opened, the chest had enlarged and extended until it became a 15 by 20 foot building, attaching itself to the outer wall that extended out surrounding Winterfell, using it as the back wall and matched its height.
When they walked inside there were 12 altars all around the room, behind each altar a banner that symbolized each class. There were no spirits of past warriors so he began to wonder how the specialization would work, the altars usually only had the basics where your specialized training went with the trainers thru missions. As the others all studied the inside in amazement Cyrus quickly teleported to Kings Landing to retrieve his Father and sisters.
Upon his arrival he was surprised to find not just his family but King Robert and his Captain of the Kingsguard Barristan Selmy, Stannis, Shireen and Oberyn and his family as well, all of them frozen in shock at the portal that appeared.
Stunned for a moment at the unexpected crowd, he then felt a shiver down his spine. The way the three Sand sisters were staring at him was a little off putting, like he was a piece of meat waiting to be savored. Quickly directing them to the portal his own family was the first to move to enter, then the Sand sisters and Shireen followed by Oberyn and his paramour. Robert and Stannis looked at each other then moved to enter last Barristan quickly moving to the front to ensure the Kings safety.
Upon exiting and being in Winterfell all the non-Starks were shocked, King Robert began laughing boisterously and began slapping Ned's back going on about how much his friend hid from him. Ser Barristan was shocked and spooked, he was a faithful believer of the Seven and had an ingrained distrust for magic.
The Seven taught that all magic required blood and sacrifice, instead of informing them that those magics were only a branch of magic and was a very small branch at that. Blood and sacrificial magics were only designed to supplement magic the caster didn't have or so that they could perform a powerful spell or curse with little to none of their own mana. Magic was within the blood, Warlock and Priest use blood in their attacks such as [Life Drain], [Mana Drain] and [Vampiric Touch] they drain the target's blood converting it to pure mana or life and is pulled to the caster allowing them to absorb it.
When they witnessed Tormund excitedly touch the altar of Demon Hunter and his body begin to glow with a reddish hue then Arya began to glow yellow after touching the Rogue altar, everyone gathered around each altar they felt attuned to.
Daenarys was Warlock while Jon was Mage. Ygritte was Hunter along with Bran.
Robb, Ned and Stannis went to Warrior. Oberyn and Nymeria joined Arya at the Rogue altar. Obara went to Shaman. Ellaria and Tyene went to Monk. Sansa and Caitlyn went to the Priest. Cyrus was surprised by the final three. Robert went to Paladin and Barristan went to Death Knight. Shireen was standing next to the Druid altar.
Each began to glow upon touching the altar.
Watching the scene with excitement Cyrus couldn't help but want to rush back to Kings Landing.
'It must be why Robert loved to use a Hammer rather than a sword like most. I never would've taken the guy as a paladin. Maybe now that it's fully activated he would chill on the women. Yeah probably not. No rules against it as long as it was not forced, the order had nothing against it. Now to see if I can free Alexstrasza and get myself my dragon. Heehee I get a fully grown one while Jon has to let his grow. Damn they are getting big fast though.' Cyrus thought as he watched each person gain insights into their new found classes and studied the dragons.
Since Jon and Daenarys had been meditating and building their connection to mana their dragons grew very quickly. Only the one who hadn't bonded was still smaller, but he had noticed it watching Shireen since she arrived.
He wasn't sure what was happening and that if the dragon wanted to bond why it didn't do as Jons did and just approach and bond.
But when he saw the glows begin to fate he put it out of his mind, he had a dragon to free. After everyone was finished and was excitedly discussing what they experienced and learned, the most excited was Shireen. Although she couldn't yet, she felt one day her dream would become a reality. She had originally felt drawn to the Warlock too, she was related to the Targaryen bloodline afterall. However when she saw the Druid altar she didn't know why but something inside her felt it had called to her to go there instead. It was weaker than the Warlock alter but her desire for freedom and love for nature had been drawn to it while her bloodline was attuned to fire.
She excitedly ran to Cyrus giving him a big hug thanking him for all he has done for her. She was cured and given an ability she could only dream of. She had imagined herself as different animals in the books she read and looked through. She was always alone and had only stories of nature and the outside world. Now she can experience it.
Hearing a few clicks of the tongue, thinking one of those was his mother's he quickly separated from Shireen.
"Okay, now I understand everyone is excited but I must remind you that the tourney is in a few days and I still gotta grab one of those things to bring back. I kinda rushed here to set this up. I shouldn't need to explain how to get stronger so anyone going back to Kings Landing step back thru the portal or you can catch a portal back when I grab the others for the tourney." Cyrus announced bringing everybody out of their reverie.
The only ones to return were King Robert, Barristan, Stannis and Ned Stark. The rest wanted to head beyond the wall to test their new abilities. Cyrus gave Robb the keys to his hidden warehouse he had multiple [Mechano-hog] so that they could quickly get back and forth from the wall.
After arriving back at Kings Landing Cyrus made his way to Dragonstone to see if he could now break Alexstrasza out of her bindings. He wanted to be able to get the help from other heroes. He was happy to get the Hall of Champions set up which would help massively in the fight, but it would take time for them to get stronger. If he could even get one hero he wouldn't have to worry about home so much. He knew Roose Bolton was just waiting for a chance to strike to claim the North for himself.
They just started building the new weapons and they weren't ready yet, things were moving faster than before but still limited.
After making it to Dragonstone and flying into the Volcano he used his connection to appear back in front of the altar that contained Alexstrasza.
After he appeared the image of Alexstrasza reappeared behind the altar.
"You have returned Champion, quicker than I thought you would I might add." Alexstrasza spoke up excitedly, she had been trapped for so long she was excited to gain freedom.
"Well nothing like a world ending threat to motivate you. Plus what Lich King and Gul'dan plan to do to my family, there is no way I can let that happen. At least Deathwing you only suffer but a moment, still able to move on to the next destination. But having your soul used to power something like the Dark Portal there is no next destination. Forever trapped within to ferry the living safely across the portal." Cyrus replied with an exasperated tone.
Hearing his reply Alexstrasza just nodded, she knew all too well the fate of those who fell into the two's hands.
"Alright well enough of that, lets get you out of here. So how do I break you out?" Cyrus asked as he looked at the altar. "Do I break it or what?"
"No need, just touch the altar and summon your mana, energy and rage into the altar. It will hurt, it was why you had to be at your strongest beforehand. Had you tried before you would've died." Alexstrasza explained.
Hearing this he quickly equipped his strongest armor and weapons boosting his stats to his highest before he touched the altar.
Immediately a pain coursed thru his body like none felt before. The ground began to quake and rumble all around, spreading outwards from the altar. A golden light enveloped the alter and Cyrus, ancient spell circles appeared throughout the cavern, the Volcano itself stirred and rumbled with activity. The whole island of Dragonstone began shaking, all the guards and inhabitants frightened by the sudden events. The Volcano hadn't been active for a long time, not since the Age of Dragons.
Even in Kings Landing they felt the earth shaking and the Volcano on Dragonstone began spewing fire and smoke into the air sporadically. Then a golden pillar of light fired up into the sky from the Volcano, a holy and royal aura could be felt by all even without seeing the spectacle.
Upon seeing this happening many in the Septa in Kings Landing prayed to their Gods for mercy, even the other lords in the keep began to pray.
Ned Stark just groaned while looking at Dragonstone, he knew his son had something to do with it. Robert looked to his friend incredulously, not because he too felt the kingly aura cause frankly he didn't care to be king. He just wanted to fight and fuck. It was why he never went to any council meetings, too boring. He would rather kill something or find a whore, preferably kill then find the whore right after.
"You got some bloody explaining to do, my friend."
