Chapter 69: A Road Trip Begin

"You sure don't want to run from this?" Keira said as she slammed the trunk of the tall, dark, and handsome mafia lord's bright yellow SUV. 

"For the last sixty-ninth time, yes, I want to do this," Nate loudly exhaled, almost rolling his eyes if she didn't raise her eyebrow in challenge. They already agreed that she was the only one who could do eye roll, even without a verbal consent.

They were about to embark on a cross country trip from New York to Fallbank, Montana.

Her mother was forcing her to come home for a reason she has yet to uncover – of course, holding her signed books hostage was not the only reason, there must be something more hideous her mother didn't reveal right away.

"I can catch a train and bus. That's how I usually travel," she said again, still trying to discourage Nate into cancelling this trip.

"Well, obviously. But I'm here with you now. I don't take public transport."
