Chapter 129: It seems like you have a versatile personality problem
"No penny, but we have weapons", Alice smirked darkly.
Lilith immediately pulled her in and whispered sternly, "You aren't planning to rob the people, are you?"
"Nah", Alice spoke in an arrogant tone as she flicked a strand of hair behind her ear, "But we have to escape. For that, we may need cars and so..."
Alice shrugged nonchalantly. Lilith sighed, "I don't know who has been raising you, but I will get you a new brain. It seems like you have a versatile personality problem."
"Eh?" Alice scratched her head, "Should I take that as a compliment?"
"I don't know", Lilith scoffed and moved back for 'Stargazing'! She peeped around cautiously while Alice murmured to herself, "You shouldn't take things to heart because people say you are supposed to!"
"Did you say something?" Lilith turned her head with a stern look.
Alice shook her head. She wanted to cry but failed to shed any tears. Her tiny brain was chanting, 'Fighting! Fighting!'
A few moments of silence passed and Lilith spoke with a suspicious tone, "These security guards, they seem off."
"Huh?" Alice peered from behind Lilith and gave a start, "Holy crow!"
"What's wrong?" Lilith frowned and turned towards Alice, "Do you know them?"
"Oh, crap! I guess we are surrounded. They are Miss Hyena's henchmen!"
"What!" Lilith felt like having a massive heart attack.
"Heheheh!" Alice gave a forced laugh, "We have to hurry!"
Alice pulled Lilith from behind and exited the curtained area. That's when they saw a huge crowd exiting the cinema hall. Alice and Lilith exchanged glances before merging among the crowd.
"Are you sure this would work?" Lilith asked among heavy pants.
"Yeah, for a while. At least thwart and distract them would help."
"But our dresses will attract attention", Lilith frowned.
"Then, let's go", Alice dragged her Mom away from the crowd.
"Where?"
Alice immediately entered a giant cloth store. Seeing that, Lilith whispered, "Are you crazy?"
"What do you think this pretty face is for?" Alice smirked, "Moreover, our company has a partnership with these branded stores. We will credit, after all."
"Ah! That's true."
Lilith and Alice removed their hoods and approached the store manager. He immediately recognized Alice. He stood up in graceful posture, "Great to meet you, Miss Alice. I am Jim, the store manager. How may I help you?"
"Well, thank you, Jim. For now, can you get the two of us a set of cloth each?"
"Yeah, nothing flashy. Keep it simple", Lilith spoke up.
"Ma'am..." Jim hesitated.
"Well, let me introduce her. She is the first lady of Amnesty International", Alice smiled.
"Huh?" Jim glanced up and down at Lilith, making her feel uncomfortable.
"Jim", Alice called out in flirty tone as she twirled a strand of her hair, "You should have some faith in me. After all, I am not stealing the company's money."
"Uh", Jim rubbed his nape awkwardly, "Okay. Hold on."
Saying that Jim left while Alice and Lilith nodded. Moments later, Jim brought along two maxi dresses, of simple outlooks. He lifted them out on both of his hands, "This might help."
"Yeah", Lilith grabbed the nearest dress, "Thanks."
Alice grabbed the other and let herself be pulled away by Lilith. They quickly changed in the trial rooms and exited the shop. Jim was still baffled until they left.
