Chapter 134: 'Bought' by that witch
Baby Doll shrunk into a corner as soon as she was ushered inside the luxurious car. She clutched her tiny bag close to her chest. The witch sat in the front seat while she sat alone. She closed her eyes and tried to relax. Moreover, she tried to remember.
She counted in her mind, "3...2...1"
No matter how she did it, her memory only said three things clearly.
First, she only remembered being surrounded by fire along with people screaming. If she thought back any deeper, the second thing was the soothing voice. And the third thing was her waking up in that scary brothel. The voice was something from before her memory loss. Moreover, she couldn't even remember her name. And that was frustrating. So, she felt closing her eyes was pointless. All these four months, she had been recuperating from her injuries in the brothel itself. The fire had caused her some massive injuries and some minors. But luckily, her face escaped its wrath. From the moment, she opened her eyes in the brothel, she had been living her days in fear of losing her dignity. But, she was lucky enough. Although, her fortune was short-lived.
But, looking at how the witch kept her eyes locked on her through the glass, made her feel uncomfortable. So, she preferred keeping her eyes closed. Hence, she never knew when she fell asleep.

Wearing a white hospital gown, the girl tried to find a familiar face among the crowd. People were screaming and running around. Her black birthmark glazed from the fire around. Half of the building was already engulfed in fire. She was trying to find an escape soon. She knew if she couldn't escape, she would end up dying here. Just then, a loud crash resonated making her vision blurred. Soon, everything went dark.
Baby Doll woke up groggily. When she woke up, she realized that it was a nightmare. Whatever, she had lived through this nightmare and it was haunting her dreams again and again. Her palms were sweaty and her face was covered in cold sweat. She looked out of the car window and realized that they had already left the outskirts. Stretched everywhere was a bare landscape.
"Want some?" a voice interrupted her thoughts.
She turned to look and saw the witch handing out a bottle of water. Baby Doll eyed it carefully before she stretched out her hand grabbed the bottle. She unscrewed the cap and immediately gulped down half of the water. Honestly, she felt quite thirsty. For Baby Doll, her only hope was her voice. She knew that she was specialized in singing. And that led to her being 'bought' by that witch.
She never understood why.
"You look like you are starving", the witch suddenly spoke up, "Being weak and unhealthy will not help while being around me."
Baby Doll looked up at her with pursed lips but immediately looked away.
"Remember to stop by the Oilao Restaurant", the witch instructed the driver beside her.
"Yes, Miss", the driver nodded politely.
Very soon, the car took a turn on the road. They were soon entering the city. Looking out through the window, Baby Dol felt that the place was quite familiar. But...why? Could it be that she was somewhere from this city? But how? If that is the case, how did she end up in that countryside?
She shook her head. No speculations. For now, she had to concentrate on her survival. She again looked out to take a look at the huge buildings and skyscrapers. Among them, the high rise buildings under the name of Amnesty International caught her attention.
Amnesty International?
Why did the name sound so familiar?
She kept glancing at it but the car turned away and made it further and further until it was out of sight.
