"I feel a lot better after that hot shower" ,Noah said , as he came out wearing a towel with steam from the bathroom filling the air.
"Right.. hot showers always ease stress. It's a secret my mom told me". Ceaser exclaimed, his head buried to his phone , not glancing up once as Noah came out from the shower.
"So , any latest update from your friend about the text message".
"No... But he says he'll let me know if he comes up with anything".
Suddenly a call came on Ceaser's phone breaking the silence. "Gimme a minute, I have to take this ",he excused himself, leaving the room in a haste.
As his friend stepped out of the room in a hurry to take a call, he found himself alone, surrounded by the lingering echo of their conversation.
A mischievous smile danced upon his lips as he glanced around, realizing the opportunity that awaited him in this intimate cloister. Slowly, he sauntered towards the mirror, the reflection staring back at him, a mere portrayal of his outward appearance.
Curiosity peeked its head from the shadows, whispering to him with a tantalizing allure. "Why did Ceaser feel the need to leave the room for a simple phone call? It seemed peculiar, almost unnatural, but he decided to just let it be since he must have his reasons.
Just then Ceaser burst into the room, holding out his phone for Noah to see. "He sent a message"
Noah , who was already fastening his button glanced at his friend with a curiosity.
"What did he say?!".
"Well , according to the text, Saturn holds secrets, shadows dance beneath the ivory moon. Midnight strikes at a crossroad named Delta. Beware the lion's roar, it carries the weight of time, right?".
Noah nodded quickly ,indicating he should carry on.
"Saturn holds secret, Saturns orbit lounge!"
Noah looked at him with confusion etched in his face. What does that have to do with anything?
"The text message obviously was talking about where they should meet after they were done killing you. And according to my friends research , Saturns orbit lounge is a nocturnal nightclub located in the heart of the city. Maybe we can get our answer if we go there. Maybe they were intending on meeting in that bar".
"You're right, or maybe the owner could know something about it". Noah added.
"Exactly! Though we have no idea who the person is ,that they were intending on meeting ", Ceaser continued, stroking his chin with one hand , still looking at his phone screen.
"So we go to Saturns orbit lounge to get answers, but from who? ".
"I know !", his eyes lit up as an idea surged through his mind.
" I have a cousin who used to hang out in that area. She might have some connections. Let me call her and see if she knows someone trustworthy at the lounge who could help us".
"You have a cousin that works in a bar?". Noah teased ,with smirk on his face.
Ceaser rolled his eyes as he went on "I'll have to explain to her to see if she can put us in touch with someone who has connections inside the lounge. But it has to be someone who won't blow our cover".
Noah was quite impressed at how unexpectedly helpful Ceaser was. He won't have been able to think of this all on his own.
"And how about disguises? We might need to blend in with the crowd and avoid standing out. If we dress like regular visitor of the lounge, we won't look suspicious, and it will be easier to move around unnoticed".
Noah felt he was going over the top but he didn't complain. He was only trying to guarantee their safety after all.
"Disguises?"
"Disguises are a must. I have seen it in movies and they looks really cool . Besides we don't want to catch the attention of any potential dangerous people. We have to be as inconspicuous as possible, just two regular people out for a night at the Orbit Lounge, nothing out of the ordinary. You know, something like that". Ceaser continued enthusiastically ,not minding Noah's worried look.
"Well ,if you put it that way, then I guess you're right. So , we have a plan: contract your cousin and gather information we need without raising any alarms".
"I'm feeling more optimistic already. Best friends going on a heist, I get to see you in action using your lycan powers and I believe we will get a step closer to finding your mom and sister".
Noah pleaded with Ceaser not to tell anyone about him being a wereshifter. He hesitated but agreed . They both waited till it was late in the night when Ceaser's mother would be asleep before they ventured out to Saturn's orbit lounge.
Meanwhile...
The atmosphere in the room was dimly lit, with the crackling sounds of the fireplace providing a soothing ambience.
As the flickering flames danced around, casting eerie shadows on the walls, a sudden entrance transformed the room into a realm of intrigue.
A girl, adorned in a tight-fitting black bodysuit, exuded an air of confidence and mystery as she gracefully walked into the room. Her every move exuded an aura of calculated determination, as if she had a mission to accomplish - a mission that hung heavy on her mind.
The girl's eyes met the figure sitting at the fireplace, his face turned away, engrossed in deep contemplation. He was a man, his presence commanding and enigmatic.
Kneeling before the man, the girl sought his attention, her voice filled with a tinge of exasperation.
"Father , where is what I requested? You gave me your words that Saturn would be helpful in making sure I kill that beta, but instead he kidnaps his family. This doesn't make any sense, I could have gone to his house and killed him with my own hands but he made me wait for two bloody weeks and still, nothing!"
He indulged her with an inquisitive gaze" Are you ordering me child?"
"No father, I am not . I am just impatient with the method of yours and I simply want you to be aware of it".
Within the depths of her eyes, the man could discern a spark of frustration that betrayed her desire for perfection.
She sighed, her breath mingling with the delicate scent of the burning firewood, as she continued .
"I know you are an expert and your knowledge on this far exceeds mine but why wait this long. It doesn't make any sense. It's clear the beta is inexperienced, like a helpless little animal. I could easily end his life in one fell swoop".
Her words echoed with a mixture of disappointment and determination.
Her voice carried an undertone of dissatisfaction; it was clear that the path he had envisioned for had not unfolded to her satisfaction.
The man, still facing forward, remained silent, allowing the girl to pour out her frustrations.
Yet, underlying her grievances was a determination that refused to surrender. As her complaints faded, an unwavering resolve replaced her exasperation.
Finally he spoke, his voice deep and commanding.
"Linnea! Need I remind you where your place is in this household, you are nothing more than a worm who barely knows her left from her right. Your classmate is a beta, is that right?"
She nodded slowly in agreement.
"Then he must be under a pack. Killing him only will really not make a difference as what is most important in a pack is the alpha. An alphas bond with his beta is very strong so if an alpha knows his beta is in danger. It will not hesitate to come to help it. My plan is to lure the alpha out through the beta. Killing the beta will hurt the alpha temporarily as he can easily move on making more beta's but killing the alpha will throw the remaining pack into chaos and it will be easier for you to take them down, one.....by...one".
The girl's silhouette, clad in the dark, form-fitting bodysuit, wavered slightly against the fire's flickering glow.
The man's face, still hidden, shifted ever so slightly as he spoke. With a subtle nod, she acknowledged his thoughts and recognized the intricate tapestry of everything he just said.
In her silence, there was understanding, a recognition that every mission had its complications and its uncertainties.
As the room fell into an expectant silence, the girl's determination swelled within her, her agile mind racing to find new perspectives, new strategies.
"Forgive me father for I did not think this far ahead. I will only act according to your instructions and solely trust your judgement from now on without any questions".
"Good, and I do hope this does not repeat itself "
"Yes father " , she said , standing up to leave.
Then she stopped, her face facing him "I must ask, why did we need to kidnap his family? Was it really necessary? This is not our way of doing things".
He was silent as she said those words.
Her heart began racing ,as she felt she should have just continue walking without asking anymore questions.
"What should happen if I were to be killed by wereshifter?".
She hesitated, as she was concerned to why he asked that question instead of just replying to her directly and straightforward.
"I would do anything in my power to hunt them down and kill them".
"Exactly child, the same goes to a wereshifter. Whether we like it or not , they have some emotional attachment to the family and friends after all , they were once humans".
He paused, letting his words sink in.
"The most powerful human emotion is rage and right now, he is filled with it and that rage is what will straight to his own demise.. JUST YOU WATCH AND SEE..."
