I knew of a biker gang who would help us out. They owed me some favors as well as were known to protect the innocent. They attended the court to support children in bad situations and looked out for women. If you treated them well, they did the same for you.

I had spent years getting to know them, and I trusted them with my life. Rich and his gang were good people. They were rough and scary to look at, but massive teddy bears on the inside. They were great, and I knew they would be willing to help us out.

“So… Dahlia… Where have you been?” I rested my elbow on the car door with one knee drawn up and my fingers in my hair, looking over at Leo beside me in the truck.

“I’ve been up and around trying to find your damn friend, but I’ve only come up empty.” Leo sighed and gripped the steering wheel of the black truck we were in.
