ADRIANO
I watched as our personal doctor worked over Raven, holding her hand and panicking over whether she would be okay or not. I didn’t know what to think about what was happening to her.
“Is she going to be alright?”A million questions ran through my mind about her situation. One of them being, would she make it being the most important?
“I’m going to make sure she is, Adriano.” Our doctor tried to reassure me, but it wasn’t working.
Rubbing the back of her hand with my thumb, I ran my other hand through her dark hair. Tears burned at the edges of my eyes as I watched him deal with the task at hand.
“You have to save her. You can’t let her die on us. Please.” I nearly dropped to my knees beside her with worry. “At least tell me she’s going to be stable?”
“I can’t tell you that.”
“Then promise me you will do everything in your power to bring her back to me.” I was desperate—ready to bargain my own life over hers. “Can you at least promise me that?”
