Throwing a rolled-up map open on a banquet table, I smoothed the curled paper with my fingertips. It was a whole schematic of the warehouse mapping out entry points and various rooms within the massive facility.
Soldiers stood around me in the stark white briefing room. Only a table with chairs around it invaded the space, and I had it filled with my men. They looked at the map as I placed heavy objects to keep it flat on the table.
I was going to get my little bird, whether Tony liked it or not. I was done playing nice and cordial. This was blood in the water, and I was the shark. He had what belonged to me, and I was not backing down.
He will not win this battle. I had him right where I wanted him, and I wasn’t going to let him go. No matter where he ran, I would chase. And I wouldn’t let up until I had Raven in my arms safe. He could bet on that.
