"Oh, no!" I uttered in shock as I stared at him.

"Who is that?" Luke asked as he glanced at the round wall clock in the living room. "It's almost midnight!" He added, boredom and disappointment were clearly heard in his voice before sinking his head into the crook of my neck.

"Samantha, open the door! Are you okay, girl?"
