Upon hearing her question of surprise, Ethan Carter replied with a smile and slowly walked towards Susan Hawk.

"What's the matter?" When Susan saw him approaching step by step, her heart began to race and she carefully retreated a step back.

Watching her cautious steps, Ethan couldn't help but chuckle.

Seeing him suddenly laughing, Susan was a bit puzzled. She furrowed her eyebrows and curiously asked, "Why are you laughing?"

"I'm laughing at you. Your reaction when you saw me was as if you were seeing a monster, and you hurriedly stepped back. Your expression was rather funny." Ethan tried to suppress his laughter as he explained, but he still ended up laughing.

Upon hearing his explanation, Susan felt embarrassed as she recalled what had just happened. She was genuinely startled because of Ethan's sudden approach, therefore she stepped back involuntarily.
