Julia Locke POV:
Marcus had reacted to the imprint of me about as well as I had expected him to. There was still the matter of how he would try to deal with my presence in his head. He seemed to have learned that hitting my imprint wouldn’t do him any good, though he might try to find another way to get rid of me.
They wouldn’t do him any good, of course. But by the time he figured something out, I would have gotten what more I needed from him.
With the imprint of me in his head, I had a clear way in and out. I could dig through his mind as I pleased and learn everything, I could want to know about him. It was almost unfair but being fair is something life has never been required to be.
Marcus knew that.
And judging by the memories he was carrying around; he had never stopped learning that.
